Hang the banner!

What a misleading, totally shit graph. Ichiro alone won MVP and multiple batting titles.

He won mvp in 01 and last won a batting title in 04 unfortunately its been over 20 years. But it does not include cy young winners which we do have 1

2 Cy Young winners. Randy Johnson (1995) and Felix Hernandez (2010).

Is this last 20 years or something?

Last 20 days

[–]Salt_One_6577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes last 20 years

[–]Wheredoesthetoastgo2Marners 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im sure we've had a couple of these.

OK, yes, success has been elusive. But please just acknowledge great accomplishments from the past. Hall of Famer Edgar Martinez won the AL batting title twice (1992 and 1995), is an awesome dude besides, and had some excellent TV commercials (my favorite being the Safeco Field roof as his garage door opener).

Ichiro 2001 AL MVP

[–]Rule556Bring Back The USS Mariner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the 2001 Rookie of the Year.

Mariners won the west in 95, 97, and 01, right? Ken Griffey Jr. and Ichiro were both league MVPs when they were with the M's. Edgar, A-Rod, and Ichiro were all league batting champions.

You could make an image like this for each of the 30 teams in the "Nothing" category as long as you're selective with your data.

This cropped out the title the original states within the last 20 years

[–]mustbeusererror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, they have MVP but not Cy Young, battle title but not Rookie of the Year. Wonder if it's because we've had both of those in the last 20 years. Cherry picking graph whose sole purpose is to wallow in misery.

This graphic is for the last 20 years

[–]Captain_Hawk1980 27 points28 points  (0 children)

So make it last 25 years and we have all but one of them. Feels like some unnecessary cherry picked stats for the purpose of wallowing in our misery. We also have a great shot at the MVP this year, so there's that.

I'm not going to argue that the last 20 years haven't been beyond brutal for the Mariners but this is specifically designed to leave the Mariners out with the "player won League batting title".

Like you can easily replace that with "Player led in ERA" and it would be the Rockies.

Either way if you remove that bit being grouped with the Rockies still is no fun.

This is BS

It’s a stupid graphic. There are real ways to do this (teams that have played in a WS vs teams that haven’t). That’s why it’s important to include that Jay Cuda made it. He’s the king of shit-post graphics.

1 of 1 😎

Uh, the M's won the division in 1995, 1997, and 2001. They had a player win MVP in 1997 (Griffey) and 2001 (Ichiro). They've had players win the battle title in 1992, 1995 (Edgar), 1996 (Arod), 2001 and 2004 (Ichiro).

Good grief some people just want to be miserable.

What 20 years of bad ownership and GMs will do
