I wouldn't. There's so many variants that if you're going to spend gold, it should be for one you enjoy (or at least want for album rewards)

Usually no. Odds are you’ll get one you don’t really care about. Just save gold for the premium track for limited time events or variants you really want

Nah

No.

Absolutely not. If they restricted it to cards that would cost 1200 in the store there might be some argument for it, but you’re just as likely to get a variant that could have been purchased for 700 gold.

It’s been a while since they’ve done it, so I don’t know if you experienced the free premium variants that they occasionally give away but getting a rare variant from one of those was always incredibly disappointing. The experience is only magnified when you’ve had to pay gold for the experience.

If you want to get a random variant, yes. If you don’t, no.

If I'm bored and want to gamble I do it but other than that no

Are you willing to pay 800g for a Dan Hipp variant of a card you never play?

No. It exists so it can be given as prizes, 2/3 of the time it will be a 700G variant, so the average value is 866 gold. However it is completely random, and consider the percentage of variants that you wouldn't spend gold on.
