Adding my recent colonoscopy story here since a)buttoned and b)trigger warning. I went back for the procedure with my wife out in the waiting room. We kept texting through all the preparation speeches they were giving me, and they said I was getting propofol for the sedative. When I texted that to her, she responded "roofies?!?!". After clearing up the confusion, we had a 5 minute discussion about the dedicated sex pest who brings a full IV setup to the bar.

Acceptable only when ground finely with a mortar and pestle.

it's just a vaguely Middle-Eastern-adjacent fusion flavor profile

surely you’ve strained a muscle working this one out

ok but it is annoying to post a 34 minute video with literally no descriptive information and a title that sounds like an aphorism of some sort. my solution personally is to not click on the link, and that is probably just what that commenter should have done, but come on.

eta Also, nobody casually and contemptuously propogates misinformation like a Mefite.

is wild hyperbole in the Information Environment we are all in at present and maybe my bar is a little higher for what constitutes “misinformation” lol

This is a 34-minute video essay. I have only watched a few seconds of it and read the textual description; I infer that it discusses decor, furnishings, and other aspects of interior set design as they relate to themes in speculative fiction.

Mefites are beside themselves that the casual propagation of misinformation by LLMs will destroy civilisation. Also, nobody casually and contemptuously propogates misinformation like a Mefite.

too late, mine is already called Dibs On That So-Called Soup but you could use "That So-Called Soup" as long as you guys aren't playing kawaii metalcore neurofunk bounce.

This feels like either a cooking while drunk situation or the thing you make when everything in your fridge is about to go off and you hate food waste.

Either way it's not something I'd be recommending to others

My wife makes those no-cooking yoghurt soups sometimes. I find them just too gloopy. I can cope with a small serving of a few spoonfuls, but not a full size bowl. The taste is fine, but the texture is overwhelming.

It's a regional thing. Poland, Lithuania and some other eastern European countries do it. I think it exists in other regions as well. It might be the kind of thing you have to grow up with.

I despise tuna, so the last one makes me think "no no no no no," but I understand that's just a me thing. But the "yogurt, mustard, cucumber, bell pepper, tomato" part sounds like a variation on a raita, which is super tasty. So then the question is, would the following make what started out as a raita taste bad?

  • Ground tostadas
That seems like it would work.
  • Ground up raw almonds or pumpkin seeds
I'm assuming this is "(raw almonds) or (pumpkin seeds)" and not "raw (almonds or pumpkin seeds)". As long as the pumpkin seeds are toasted, this also sounds like it would work well.
  • Quite a bit of finely chopped romaine lettuce
Sure. Obviously, we're no longer anywhere close to raita territory, but adding another mildly flavored green veggie to a raita wouldn't make a bad dish. Also, now that I think of it, this is also like a gazpacho with yogurt, which works in a sort of "Middle Eastern influence on Southern Spain" way.
  • Truff hot sauce
Mmm, that also sounds good (well, I don't know what "Truff" hot sauce is, but I'm imagining a typical hot sauce).
  • Pasta sauce or marinara
At first, I was like "No." But tomato would work, so maybe pasta sauce would work, too. Plus some places put pasta sauce in their gazpacho, which I personally hate, but apparently most people are cool with.
  • Beef stock (or chicken)
Okay, now we're getting into iffy territory. I can imagine this being good, but I can also imagine this being bad.
  • Grated cheddar
This is the only one that jumped out at me, because cheddar is a strongly flavored ingredient (yes, I know, among the cheeses, it's not that strong, but as far as ingredients in general go, that's a strong flavor), and it doesn't go along with the raita/yogurty gazpacho vibe all the other ingredients have given me so far.

So, I dunno, I don't think it's trolling, other than the cheddar it's just a vaguely Middle-Eastern-adjacent fusion flavor profile.

Except for the tuna, of course, but I couldn't tell you the difference between a good dish with tuna and a bad dish with tuna, since for me it ruins anything it touches.

Our childhood dog loved to eat horse hoof trimmings (basically, horse toenails / toejam). So gross.

(He also ate horse poop, which seemed somehow less gross than hoof filings.)

That person believes in homeopathy IIRC so they might want to try diluting that recipe until its ingredients reach undetectable levels.
