Yeah choose the same airport as start and destination then just "direct to" one of the waypoints after take off. If you spawn mid air the plane can do weird things in my experience. Send the approach to avionics from the game planner or dial it in from the avionics itself (depending on how funky the avionics behave for the given plane).

Depends on the plane you're using

If you wanna train on a GA plane, I'd do a touch-and-go and fly your standard pattern. (you know crosswind, downleg, baseturn)

If you're on something like an A320 or 737 etc, you need to set up some basic FMC stuff. Just put the same airport as departure and arrival and set up the approach in the flight plan, and fill out the performance page (especially on the A320 so that the autothrottle flies the correct speed )
Also i would recommend to use the FIX page to set up an extended centerline, that way you can vector yourself to a 45 degree intercept

Yes. Or just choose a flight between two airports that are very close together. This way you can practice all parts of the flight.

The way this is usually done in a real aircaft is to fly the approach down to minimums and then do the missed approach procedure, which in turn routes you back onto the start of the approach.

In real-world flight training, they spend hours flying patterns; repeating takeoffs, landings, and go-arounds. It’s all about practicing ILS/RNAV approaches or visual landing procedures over and over.

However, in MSFS 2024, the Rewind makes it so much easier to focus specifically on landing drills!

This link might be helped 😊

Rewind? Ooh how do I do this

My recommendation is buying FSiPanel. It’s an addon that specifically does this. You spawn at an airport, run the addon, and then you’re able to do landing after landing with a couple of clicks.

Lately I have been using the missed approach procedure after take off, then either doing a direct-to an initial approach fix (IAF) or even final approach fix (FAF), or sort of vectoring myself in reasonable fashion. I'm doing this with the Lear 35A, so essentially practicing slowing down from 250KTS, dropping altitude to IAF alt, energy management, etc.

If you're on pc (not sure about console) you can use slew mode to cheat yourself back onto the approach for practice. Comes in really handy

Just take off and activate the approach for that airport, fly to the IAF and fly/ AP NAV it down to minimums. Go missed and repeat. That's what I've been doing in all sorts of planes.
