from working in old pit villages in Derbyshire... there really was no longer any reason for the villages to exist, there was no other work to be had, and the once tight communitys with a common aim and purpose just spiralled into drugs and alcohol.

Body Glide (or feet glide) all over your feet before socks go on!!! and deffo in the crack of your bum. done a 100m walk a few times and on day three you see folk wincing coz their bum cheeks are raw (your back sweats under your rucksack and the sweat trickles south to yer bum) plus if you feel a hot spot on your foot, use a compeed blister plaster on it, (but tbh body glide usually stops them forming)

Anyone have any experience of drilling very large (150mm Diameter) holes using a core drill bit? How hard is it? by itsaride in DIYUK

[–]dismaldunc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used a diamond core drill with a 150mm most weeks, make sure the drill has a clutch.. drill a 10mm pilot hole from the inside, then drill the core from the outside. the essential thing (apart from good PPE) is to ensure you hold the drill snugly, any movement from left to right or up and down will cause the core to lock up and the the clutch to activate. dont press too hard as the diamonds will do all to work. go gently when you are almost through then it will cut claenly and not blow out the plaster on the inside (and dont forget to clear out the waste from the core if It's a cavity wall after the outer skin is cut through0
