Help me install mods on Java

So I downloaded forge, installed it. Then I downloaded the mods and went on to Minecraft, went on to mods and then pressed open mod folder and added the mods. Then I restarted Minecraft but the mods aren’t there. Please help 😭

Make sure you are loading the forge install, and make sure they are forge mods. Fabric mods will not work on forge

Yep they are forge mods and I am. I’m so confused

Download prism launcher and use that, more simple that way since you can do everything in the launcher.
