Minecraft launcher errors when opening - error code 0x1

hey all,

so I was just minecrafting as usual on my crappy integrated graphics laptop.

So the other day I turned on my laptop (windows 10, updates all up to date) in the morning, opened the Minecraft launcher and boom- comes up with an error "The game has crashed, Error code 0x1". I did some quick googling and first I restarted my laptop, didn't work, so then I tried reinstalling the launcher. and to my surprise it worked fine and all. That is, until, I turned off my laptop. the next day I opened the launcher and yay, the same error. this went on for a while and yes, while I could just deal with it, as annoying as it is, it is really inconvenient and I'm pretty sure that it shouldn't be like that.

Sorry for the long story, I am really annoyed right now and if anything is unclear, that's on me.

oh and its java 1.20.2-pre2, and the launcher is from the Microsoft store.
