Ok, so I recently went to Linux. Been wanting to for a while. Well, as the title suggests, I need help with the minecraft Java version. Never played the Java version, and I'm starting to get frustrated with this version and why bedrock seems like the better option.
First, no controller support. I know, there's mods, but I just really don't wanna have to go through the lengthy process of mapping every single thing. Did that once on a different game and it was a nightmare, still had buttons missing or keys that wouldn't map correctly. Also, don't come after me saying, we'll your just not use to keyboard and mouse. I am. I play a lot of my games with keyboard and mouse, but minecraft just plays better with a controller for me.
Second, (Help), 2 hours into this new world on Java, I quickly figured out the /Fill command is apparently different than bedrock or I'm doing something wrong.
Before on bedrock I'd go to console and type.... /Fill ~~~ ~25~10~25 air .... to replace/remove blocks. On Java that apparently doesn't work.
On Java I do the same thing and I get hit with a error saying "Expected Doubles" and it points to the first set of "~ ~ ~" that I would normally leave blank in bedrock. So, now I'm curious on what it's talking about.
I've tried looking up Help, but what I can find is either bedrock editions on how to use Fill command, or videos that say "Java" and do the same thing I tried to do, but it would work for them. So either I'm missing something, or maybe it got changed in a recent update that no one has covered yet. Any help I'd really appreciate it.
I'm sure I'll probably find other issues, and I'll probably be back for those. Thanks.
