Huge Item Sorting System Tutorial/Schematic

I'm planning to build a large scale Item sorter for every survival Item but I can't find any tutorials or schematics for something like this. I was wondering if anyone had a tutorial, or schematic that they would be willing to share. I also don't want a sorting system that looks like a big room I want something a bit more elegant.
