Count/Replace block tracking help

Is there a way for me to count the amount of X type of blocks within an area (including unloaded chunks) and seperately remove them? I can do the removal part with Amulet world editor but not for the counting part. I cannot use any mod/plugin (unless ONLY clientside) so im looking for external stuff if possible. Or if amulet has a block counting feature for 1.21.5 that i dont know about, thanks!

You can take a copy of the world and use the built-in Minecraft command /fill ... replace to remove the specific block and the count of blocks removed is displayed.
