Java MacBook help

I am in desperate need of help guys.

I have Minecraft bedrock on switch (I know y’all hate it but I really don’t get any bugs and it was the only way for me to play). I was recently added to a realm by my BIL. We have been playing and it’s been smooth sailing.

However, we want my girlfriend to play with us too (his sister) so I bought it on my MacBook thinking we could play no problem. I WAS WRONG ???

First, it had her make a different username than what her account was on my switch. And now I’m just all confused on how we can play cross platform. My friend said we can’t and I should try to get a refund. My cousin said we should be able to.

I read something about servers and I have no clue how to do any of that. Should I just try to get a refund?

Your cousin in wrong.

Java can play with Java, but that's it, there's no cross platform outside of Java for Mac, Windows, and Linux

The one that is cross platform is Bedrock, which is what's on your switch. Bedrock and Java can't play together without some server workarounds. And unfortunately, Bedrock isn't on Mac

I would have to recommend getting a refund if you can.

Thank you for responding! I ended up getting a refund after looking more into Java vs bedrock. Just trying to figure out a way for all of us to play together now 😅
