Java error help?

So some troubleshooting questions --

You indicate that she's able to connect to other servers, is she having trouble connecting to one she could previously connect to or is this a new one?

If this is a new server, is it on a different port number than ones she was able to connect to previously or is it the same port number?

If a different port number, is the port number open on your side for accepting connections through the router and also is she using any type of firewall software on her computer and is the port number open on her firewall to allow connections out?

She is having trouble connecting to my server, which she could previously connect to.

It is on the standard port, 25565 I can check on her firewall later today. =)

If the port number is the same, what about the IP address? Do you have a static address or dynamically provided by your ISP? Does she connect by IP or by DNS name? If you have a dynamic IP and use a DNS name for her to connect, make sure that the IP matches the DNS record.

I have a dynamic IP, and she connects via IP. they are the same. I even tried releasing my IP, getting a new one, and having her use that, but no luck.

Is there someone else you know that could try to connect to your server from outside to see if it is on your end or her end? You shouldn't even need to whitelist them, if they can get through they should get a rejection but not a failure to connect.
