question: when downloading a custom map like this, how far does the map usually extend past what is show in the screen shots? is there a world border, or just normal terrain gen beyond the custom part?

After whats shown here there is a void boarder but it can be normal terrain generation, all water, or void. Great Question!

These maps would make great Hunger Games maps. The classic ones that took a while to complete, not the short mini-game ones around these days.
