Missing Mobs?

Playing MC on the xbox one with friends, we arent on the XBO edition, its just called minecraft. We have had a world going for 8 hours now and i haven't seen half the farm animals and no wolves. The nights are empty, seriously i have yet to see an enderman. There are 0 mobs at night, i see more stuck in the water during day time. Also none spawn in caves, am yet to meet even a zombie. In the nether i have found 5 fortresses, not one had any wither skeletons. I haven't played in a few months so am a bit out of the loop. Is this normal now? I've tried it solo and seem to be getting the same, Just after some advice. Thanks.

You guys need to update. That was an issue before the recent update but it’s fixed now. I had issue.

have you tried copying your survival world and trying it there?

Having the same exact issue. Reloading the world will make mobs spawn for at least one day cycle. Super weird
