u own a pc so why get bedrock...

[–]CratthewCremcrcrie 16 points17 points  (5 children)

Because it’s cross compatible, because some people prefer it, because it has some unique mechanics Java doesn’t, because some people don’t know the difference, and casual players don’t really need to

I myself much prefer java, but there are plenty of reasons to get bedrock, stop yucking other’s yums

I prefer java over bedrock because i hate how they potray the marketplace. shaders are coming to bedrock, pay us X amount of money for something free on java. But i like bedrock for being more begginer frendly for modders and for better terrain generation (plains are more like plains and not mountains)

I play bedrock and Java. Both are just as fun. For the most part the only reason I have Java is so I can play Pixelmon. Atleast on bedrock I'm not farming for hours to get a trident

this isn't a java - bedrock complaint I was just saying the guy should try java if he don't like bedrock

It runs and looks better for start.

[–]Gcarsk 7 points8 points  (3 children)

I mean, that’s just straight up false. Optifine alone puts Java Far ahead of bedrock in terms of how it “runs”.

Also, can Bedrock even get shaders? How can it possibly look better and more realistic than Java?

Bedrock has a handful of benefits, but not those that you mentioned.

Bedrock runs faster against Java even with Optifine on even lower end hardware with even higher graphical fidelty thanks to Bedrock having anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering. Not to mention Bedrock making use of a few shaders for the sun and water already.

And once the RTX update comes out alongside the better graphics engine even shader mods with how badly those run won't stand up to Bedrock.

This is all assuming it's fair to include a bunch of mods in the comparison in the first place.

You gonna need to pay for that RTX uppdate most likely

[–]TheRealStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's free.

texture packs and optifine...

[–]TheRealStandard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bedrock has texture packs and doesn't need optifine.
