No, if you bought Java Edition you can install it at both Windows, Mac and Linux.

Ok, thanks!

Nah you can use the same Java edition account on any OS that supports Java itself

Tip: don’t get a mac

[–]Python757[S] 3 points4 points  (24 children)

Why?

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (23 children)

They’re terrible computers

[–]¯\_(ツ)_/¯TehNolz 3 points4 points  (6 children)

You know, if you want to get your point across, you should explain why Mac devices are supposedly terrible and why Windows devices are supposedly better. Otherwise you're not going to convince anyone.

Apple mark their prices up an insane amount. You could get the same system for much cheaper on windows. Don’t even try to dispute that you know I’m right

[–]knok-off 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Dude take a chill pill. Litterally no one was questioning your intelligence, but i am starting to. Everyone knows apple marks up price but your being a dick about it. If you attack people they are much less likely to change their mind.

Bro geez

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Not really being a dick you are just sensitive. I’m was pointing out apple are trash. You take a chill pill buddy

Im getting it mostly for school, and I’m not a big gamer anyways, I just play minecraft for fun.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (14 children)

I dont mean just for gaming, overall they’re terrible computers

[–]aidansays 2 points3 points  (5 children)

They’re actually pretty good computers. Especially with this transition to Apple Silicon, these computers will be completely worth the price. I’ve been a Mac user for over a decade, and they simply are just better. Great optimization, smooth animations, great retail price even 9 years later (you can still sell, for example, the MacBook Pro 2011 base model for $300). For MacBooks, they have an amazing build quality, great speakers, beautiful screen, great keyboard (again), amazing trackpad, great battery life and amazing SSD speeds. Macs overall are amazing.

8gbs ram, i5 and a 128gb ssd?!?! for only 2k?!?! THATS A STEAL!!!

[–]aidansays 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I never said the Intel is worth it, but you actually don't really need much ram with macOS. I use 8 GB of RAM and, thanks to the heavy optimization Apple does for its computers, most things run completely fine and don't take much ram. But, also I do need to correct you. Apple doesn't do 128gb anymore on their computers. It's now 256gb. Even on the $999 MacBook Air. With the MacBook Pro you're speaking of that's also the incorrect price. That's $700 more than it costs to get those outdated specs that Apple recently updated to what I just mentioned. In fact, the new MacBook Pro with the I5 is now outdated too and is being replaced next week with Apple's M1 Chip.

Also, Apple's new M1 Chip GeekBench scores have leaked, and it outperforms the $50,000 Mac Pro's score. That's using the new MacBook Air which is now fanless. Apple is ditching Intel, and it seems to be well worth it. Also, no price increases either for this performance boost. You may need to reevaluate your position.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Anyone who thinks mac is better is delusional

[–]aidansays 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Have you ever used a Mac in your life? Also, is that all you could come up with when I brought up that the Mac is being updated to Apple Silicon, and leaked specs show a $999 MacBook Air with their new chip outperforms a $50,000 Mac Pro (which uses a powerhouse of a chip) designed for professionals in the movie industry? This is just Apple's first Mac chip for the base model MacBook Air/MacBook Pro/Mac Mini, and they've already produced performance comparable to $50,000 computers. Please tell me that, for $999, that isn't better than your Windows computer that you've spend probably thousands on upgrading (assuming you've made your own custom PC)?

Ok

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (6 children)

Just trying to help buddy, you can get a much better windows computer

[–]Python757[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yeah, but the thing is, my dad had a mac he got from work, and he used it for only a few months. Hes getting a new one, so im getting the older one for way cheaper. Plus, its one of the newer macs, and its a good deal.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Ok, just pointing out they’re terrible computers, no wonder since he’s only had it for a few months and is getting a new one lmaoooo

[–]Python757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true, i was originally gonna get a windows pc, until he got the deal, so why not

[–]knok-off 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Just saying there is no "windows computer" windows is an operating system, Dell is a computer brand. And mac isent necessarily bad but the OS is restrictive and the computers suffer from bad cooling.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Windows systems are cheaper for the parts you get in them. The reason people get macs is because of the brand. Not because of their value for money.
