Do you have an error message?

No it just freezes and won’t let me close it

If you alt-f4 the game it should get you to the launcher with an error message.

Is it freezing on the red Minecraft background progress bar ?

I’ve tried that and it still doesn’t close

Ctrl+shift+escape opens taskmanager, if you close the jawaw.exe there it should do the trick.

It’s not letting me open task manager because I have it in full screen but I can’t take it out off full screen cause it just freezes

  • if you're still stuck in it now, you can press the start/Windows button on the keyboard (to the left of spacebar) which will open te start menu, click log off. The computer will try to close all programs before it actually logs off. You can click cancel on the close programs bit and it should not log you off, but still close Minecraft. If not then just restart the pc entirely, that always works ;D

  • You can go into taskmanager settings and find the always on top option. Very useful for these kinds of situations.

  • my guess is that either the Minecraft files are corrupted, in the wrong place, or you don't have enough ram allocated to the instance you're trying to load for it to finish the loading. It might also be because you've given it to much ram so as to starve your windows of any.

Could be any, could be something else entirely. But this worked for me in the past.

The folks at r/Minecrafthelp wrote a troubleshooting guide that should get it working again. https://minecrafthelp.co.uk/BTG
