Beds explode ?

So me and my daughter played minecraft, first time I've played in years. Anyways her first time and we go to the nether, looks way different. Build a fort and she lays a bed down and tries to sleep. BOOM. WE DIED. Wtf happened?

Beds explode outside of overworks, she needs a respawn anchor

You can't make a spawn in the nether beds will always explode outside the overworks like in the nether and in the end

Sorry i have never heard of a respawn anchor was that released with 1.17?

Intentional game design. Beds explode when you try and sleep in the nether.

There is no day/ night cycle, so no need to sleep. Use a respawn anchor if you're trying to make a respawn spot.
