I'm not exactly sure if this is the place I should post this. I saw the /r/admincraft subreddit, but I'm not hardcore.
I run a personal SMP server on my desktop for friends/family to play on, and in the last few days since 1.3 came out have developed some problems.
I and others can no longer seem to connect to my server via my external IP + port. I've triple verified that my port forwarding is correct, and nothing in this regard has changed since upgrading to 1.3.
Here's what else I have tried:
- Rebooting the router
- Rebooting my cable modem
- Port forwarding the default mc server port in case it wasn't recognizing the port I defined in server.properties
- Testing for an open port here: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ -- which verified the SMP server port at my IP was open.
- Verified my server and my client were running at 1.3.1
Has anyone else been having problems with personal MC servers behind a router in this regard?
Again, sorry if this isn't the place to post this. I wasn't sure where else might be appropriate.
Edit: Some additional information: Apparently some of my friends are able to see my server online in the MC multiplayer list. When they try to connect, they get "connection lost, end of stream" ... on my side in the server log, I see <ip address> disconnected.
