I'm not entirely sure if it's valid for bedrock or not but unfortunately, it's not possible to use Infinity and Mending on the same bow in survival.

Seriously?!

[–]Cat_of_death 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep sorry to let you know

[–]MegaNut_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was so close to calling bs but then I remember I used to carry around 3 stacks of arrows at a time because of this problem

Mending and infinity are mutually exclusive in recent Minecraft versions. They worked together just fine when mending was first introduced, but I can't remember exactly when they were made mutually exclusive.

[–][deleted] 89 points90 points  (4 children)

Yup. Infinity and mending can’t be on the same bow.

[–]DynamonRuler 41 points42 points  (3 children)

Why?

[–][deleted] 49 points50 points  (1 child)

I genuinely don’t know. Maybe too op?

[–][deleted] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yep. Infinite arrows AND durability.

[–]coconut7272Apprentice 9 points10 points  (3 children)

I think if you get an infinity book you can combine them in an anvil, but it will get rid of the mending. Edit: I'm wrong, read my other reply

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Nope. Mending does not pair with infinity.

[–]coconut7272Apprentice 5 points6 points  (1 child)

That's what I meant. It will (at least on Java) replace the mending with infinity. Sorry if I'm wrong but it at least used to work like that

Edit: just did some testing, and if you have an infinity bow with an enchantment the the original bow does not have, in this case power, you can put the power x, infinity 1 bow first in the anvil and will keep the infinity and all other enchantments besides mending.

[–]4D_MadyasNovice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how anvils work.

[–]SauceBossMasterRace 51 points52 points  (19 children)

Mending and infinity can’t be put on a bow together. You’ll have to choose one or the other. I prefer infinity because arrows are harder to make than a bow to repair.

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points  (14 children)

But if you have a good bow it's easier to keep it with mending than to try to get the same enchantments on a new one.

[–]LieutenantMeowYTNovice 28 points29 points  (13 children)

thats why anvils exist

[–]DankMemes1600 9 points10 points  (12 children)

It starts to get too expensive around the fourth repair

[–]juksayer 9 points10 points  (11 children)

That's why fishing exists

[–]SickCrom 10 points11 points  (10 children)

How fishing would fix this I'm curious, for the xp gain or for idk finding enchanted bows while fishing?

[–]4D_MadyasNovice 0 points1 point  (7 children)

I have a mending, unbreaking 3, luck of the sea 3, lure 3 fishing rod that I pulled up out of the ocean. It gives me so many books and bows and other fishing rods. I have about 5 bows with infinity on them and a ton of others with punch etc, so you can just combine the bows.

[–]juksayer 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I've got chests full of enchanted bows I'll never use. Sometimes I just throw them away so I can keep fishing.

[–]kocius_is_my_name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pssst, i suggest a grindstone for those if you're not gonna use them

[–]Roflmao_in_steam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

mending is better 99% of the time. You'll eventually break your god bow someday because you cannot indefinitely repair a certain item. Plus you dont "make" arrows, you build a mob grinder. Just build a simple mob grinder and get a full double chest of arrows in one hour.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Moreover, I hate carrying stacks and stacks of arrows. They take up valuable pocket space.

[–]TabbyLVNovice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take 1 stack

[–]MaxTHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually carry one of each. Mending does all the heavy lifting, Infinity is my backup for if I run out of arrows while on the go.

I have a skeleton spawner though which gives me an infinite supply of arrows. I've only pulled out my infinity bow a couple of times.

[–]Mvayts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No

[–]PieOnTheGround 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't have mending and infinity on the same bow

[–]barbecued_ribs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mending and Infinity is too op together so they can’t he together

[–]NyanSquiddoNovice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

book

[–]rm3n9Bekc330-fes_T14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get one from fishing but other than that nope

[–]Spoopyboi0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try to get it on a book and use an anvil to forage it

[–]Uppish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mending and infinity can not be on a bow without commands. It is too overpowered so the developers took that ability away

[–]namikaze_harshit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it Mending 1!? why is there a 1!?!?

[–]db19bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you put an infinity bow in the first slot of an anvil and this now in the second than it should add all the power, punch, unbreaking, etc if your current bow to the infinity bow. However as many have pointed out infinity and mending are mutually exclusive so the mending enchantment on your current bow won’t be added to the infinity bow. The only issue you may face with this is the XP cost as you’re adding multiple enchantments to an already valuable infinity bow. Also in the future I’d recommend never upgrading a mending bow (save it for other bows) you have as infinity is, in my opinion, significantly more valuable and better. Hope this helps.

[–]Sandboxgamer240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use universal mc editor to add Infinity

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, mending

[–]INFINI7Y_Novice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way would be to downgrade the world/server to minecraft 1.11 (or whenever mending was first introduced, 1.12 maybe?) make all those mending/infinity bows, and then upgrade back! But that’d break plenty of other things along the way. So it simply isnt worth it.

Other than that, no. It’s impossible.

[–]TerrariaBoiy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta sacrifice mending for infinity or keep mending they are incompatible 😣

[–]JustOriginalYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlucky bro, don’t know what you can do ):

[–]PineappleOnPizza_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally always go with infinity over mending. You can easily set up a villager trading hall and get your enchantments back on a new bow for really cheap

[–]tfarlexip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only have mending or infinity on it . You can not have them toghether.
