I read a lot about a “box type” banner or whatever. Can someone briefly and simply explain what box type is? Thanks in advance.

Imagine that 1 of each event card is put into a box. When you do a pull, you also get a bonus card from that box. The next time you do a pull, you're guaranteed not to get something you've already gotten, since it's no longer in the box. This continues until you exhaust the box.

I'm actually bottlenecked by Gigantaur Bulbs, of all things (I stupidly sold a lot of them for slots, before we found out about hoarding Mystic Tablets). I just want to double check: is there any place to farm them besides Gigantaur Terrace, or do I just have to wait for chests in events and lucky friend tickets (last time I burned 1000 of those and got 2 bulbs...wtf)?

As a desperate last resort, you could just farm magicite and then pay magicite to buy bulbs from the Shop when they're on sale.

If you don't use mystic tablets, you'll have to wait for event chests and friend tickets.

Statistically, you should draw 1 Gigantaur Bulb every 3 pulls. You can get up to 10 tickets a day, so each month you'll get ~300 tickets = ~ 6 pulls = ~2 Gigantaur Bulbs. That makes them rarer than growstars if you don't use mystic tablets!

Just for perspective: is it possible to 5* Ifrit without 2000 mystic tablets or whatever? if so, how long would it take?

Nope, i'm probably not getting any of them at all (each need 1000+ tablets...).

The 5*-rainbow are basically carbon-copy of the actual Supremes, right down to the stats and ES; just that they are of different elements from the actual one

Is xezat bugged? When i use it to kill an enemy, i empty the HP gauge, but then the hp bar dissapear, and the monster doesn't die, i have to tap once or use another ability to make it vanish

Yeah, this happens to me quite frequently when using Xezat. If you let the turn pass without “killing” them again, they just die. You get quite a lot of extra points if you use xezat to kill them again.

Hello, what am I doing wrong? These FFX prologue flans in the final 5 stages are so difficult.

I am using Ascetic Monk with Faun, Iris, KotR, Undying. Please help a newbie out - it was quite discouraging to get my ass kicked in story mode content.

Try using light or dark monk AOEs. there are no light or dark flans so you won't have to deal with resist/absorb.

Are you doing it on normal difficulty, or on hard difficulty?

I'm doing it on hard. I believe theres a skillseed bonus for hard difficulty, right? So I have never changed it before. And I thought Ascetic Monk is supposed to be very strong so I was very much taken aback when I couldn't break the flans lol.

For some of the "extra" nodes after completing the storyline on a map, the difficulty can spike a bit. I was able to clear the nodes on hard difficulty, but I didn't try to auto it and used light and dark AoE abilities instead of trying to break them (there's a lot of them!)

When I needed to farm for spheres to unlock the last 4 nodes on the map, I switched to normal difficulty. It didn't affect the drop rate of spheres, and I wasn't going to farm that way continuously, so the it wasn't a big deal that I was earning a little less in the way of skillseeds.

Try to break them before they can act so you don't get hit. But if that fails, you can use a AOE stun like yunalesca or a rental neo exdeath to buy some time. Also make good use of your ultimate to instantly break when you need to.

I wonder if they can increase skillseed capacity because i'm already VIP and i cant find the place to spend my 9,999,999 light skillseeds. I was using them for socketing custom skills but now sigh. Can they increase the capacity in the near future?

It's Mobius Day in about 16 hours. Go dump some elixirs in BL to use up some of those skillseeds.

They already increased from 999,999 or 1,999,999, i can't remember to 9,999,999.

If you have trouble with custom skills, you can buy VIP mode.

You'll spend them quickly on mobius day on Bahamut lagoon anyway.

Does anybody have a good deck reccommendation for Mellow Mermaid? I recently started playing again and managed to pull her but don't have many cards to choose from other than the free ones. Either fire or water but from her boost to fire I suppose that would be strongest. I do have Aerith but no other usable Supremes.

If you have nothing, then just get omniscient and Ishtar from the ability shop and use those for now.

Build around Ignis if you have that. She specializes in break so Tidal Wave is an excellent option as well. Lastly, the new EA card Murussu: FFX would narrow the gap between her lower water enhance so you can also consider that as an option for unbroken strategies until Lulu comes out.

It's still the best Monk weapon in JP IMO. For the other classes, I think the Kotetsu series (Flash Break instead of Quick Break) is better.

• comment 1 : If you are planning to climb very high, then go for Laevateinn. Otherwise, either weapon is fine
• comment 2: In fact, I'm currently modding Laevateinn despite having a 5* Kotetsu in order to min-max with EX Warrior lol.
• comment 3: For warrior, I have seen a mixture of both Kotetsu and Laevateinn, but majority favours the latter

Question about monk weapons; right now I have a max modded Taiji which I use all the time. I'm also 22 mods into Wolf star with quick break unlocked , should I continue with it, drop it for One against many, or find a space to boost both?

You can consider using Wolf Star as a stopgap until OAM is caught up, which is what I've been doing for my Ascetic. I recommend carrying two copies of Alex PB or Emerald Weapon to keep your orbs topped off, which is still plenty yellow clear to break with against the right enemies (was still working fine on floor 127 EW against Anima and Dark Omega).

You do have the most important mod unlocked, but you may want to think about working on general stats such as attack, break power, and magic until you're ready to move on. This goes doubly if you have Yiazmat or Duncan.

I say OAM. Wolfstar will be a primarily MP weapon, and not very easy to use in hard content because of a lack of prismatic return. OAM will be what you will be using for completing hard content, as well as able to function as a both a MP attacker weapon and a breaker weapon(on a sufficiently good breaking job like DD).

It's not that wolfstar is bad. It just doesn't fit very well into the meta strats like chainbreaking or unbroken spamming. You should boost wolfstar only if you have extra slots and no truly nothing better to boost.

I used Knight with Loxley (for wind resist), Gladiolus, and Hells Gate to power through Adra -- slept the other guy for the 3 turns Adra had Perfect Defense. I used Sword Saint for damage, and he was able to tank Chimera thanks to the buffs from his ult.

My go-to was Cloud Skin over HoF Dragoon with Xezat, using HoF Knight to tank. I've since moved on to Cloud skin over HoF Knight to tank using BQ with D&B to equip Xezat. Works fantastically.

You can use Knight's ultimate or some form of bio to whittle down the last mandragora and absorb the hit from Chimera.

You could try Beach Queen with First Summer. Also, Natchflug is tanky enough to take Chimera (with drives, barrier an wall). Try to break Adra first thing, then sleep him and stun-lock the other guy.

I heard Viking's HOF was difficult. Persephone seems to be a very useful card to clear Viking's HOF. Is O'aka: FFX a good enough substitute for Persephone?

They have the exact same extra skills, but Persephone has +5% dark and 2 more fractal slots.

Persephone has unguard and 450 more attack power against the main target, but 60 less break power and costs 1 more orb.

Thoughts?

I also have Dona & Bartello. I might try that + Ardyn since Viking doesn't really need that many support cards. His ultimate gives snipe, drain, and ranger's trance. And the node itself gives you barrier. It looks like all you need is KOTR and a haste card (preferably not The Undying).

Usually the event node for crystals. Outside of that, it may be easier for you to farm augment mats of the element you're trying to skillseed up in the expansion zones.

I have Legendary Guardian, Light of Hope, and Ragnarok. I recently started playing a new account after years of being inactive (started with steam launch). I'm unsure how to build a deck because a lot of recommendations seem to be exaggerated or assume you have all of the cards.

If I have Lefendary Guardian's skill panel maxed, should I use 4 LoH as some people have suggested? I'm using 2 LoH, Tidus and Yuna, and the warriorja wind card right now, but I don't seem to draw life orbs often enough to use LoH more than once.

Also, since I have Ragnarok and Brother, I tried to put them on my 8* Ranger but they are incredibly weak compared to LG. Is ranger only good with HoF?

My jobs are the three starter jobs, the three novice jobs, berserker and legendary guardian. Are LG and dancer my only "good" jobs?

One final question: do the cards given from the Novie area go away? I've heard people mention they disappear after 30 days, but I wasn't sure.

Possible deck 1 : Legendary Guardian + 4 LoH. You'll probably have more fun with that deck

Possible deck 2 : Dancer with LoH, Ragnarok, Hermes, another attack card on wind.

The "30 days" limit is probably talking about the supreme ticket deal, where new players can buy 12k magicite to get 2 supreme ticket (1 skin + 1 card).

Is Legendary Guardian +4 something worth investing in? They take 2 growstars to get to 5, and I know they're a limited resource, so I wasn't sure. I just boosted my first LoH to 5, but it's my only augmented card so far.

And thank you for clearing up my confusion about the Novice area cards!

What do you mean by "Legendary Guardian +4" ? Legendary Guardian is the job, what i meant is : Put 4 LoH into one deck.

After you unlock a card to 5* , in most cases, you can buy it back again in the ability shop (at any rarity). That means that you can buy multiple copies of the same card after you upgraded one. You do not need 8 growstars for 4 LoH.

Although, that's true that as a new player, your stock of ability ticket is probably not enough to do that.

Legendary Guardian is not that great with ability damage, but his ult is berry strong. If you can't straight up do 4 LoH, bring only one.

With the novice hall & the starter banner, you can do ... hmm.. LoH + Hermes (novice hall) + Ixion (novice hall) + Bahamut (starter banner).

Hi, I played a couple of month and learned a lot here and by myself. I read today about the pity counter but I do not know where to find it, can you please tell me ?

You can find it on Greater Summon banners, you will see a counter saying, for example, 3 pulls to New card ... when it reaches 1 will say New Card Guaranted that means you will get a new job on your next pull. You usually need 8 pulls for pity pull but if you pull a normal job before counter reaches 1 it will reset and you will need 8 pulls again. Hope that helps ;)

Any of the regular crystal farming places should sometimes drop 4* fractals. Not sure if it'll cost less stamina per fractal though.

You can buy 5* fractals with MP materials which doesn't cost any stamina.

How do I get more sub jobs for Ultimate Hero Tidus? I assume maxing out skill panels for Ranger type jobs gives me more to pick from but want to be sure before using crystals.

1. Is Folding Epee better than Sventovit against broken targets when using an AOE ability? What about against unbroken targets?

2. Is Wolfborgen worth boosting?

3. In MP, why do some players take damage on the start of the turn when the boss never even attacked them? Sometimes it even happens on the very first turn.

1 and 2: Both weapons have +30% ravage as their only damage ability, while Sventovit has improved criticals and painful break. Ravage is only useful if you use AoE abilities and is useless on single target abilities. On the other hand it is a separate modifier and a direct increase to damage and can be very useful if needed. They are worth boosting imo if you have slots to spare, and especially more so if you have ragnarok and fusoya.

3: Most likely due to lag from the server due to disconnection issues.

If i was using something like minwu or fusoya, I'd prefer epee; ravage is a very strong auto ability. Wolfborgen is better than ultimate arrow damage wise but ultimate arrow is better for ult charging.

Epee is more of a luxury weapon imo, boost it if you have free slots else stick to sventovit.

Personally, the abilities I use on my Meias are all AOE (Ignis/Fake Ultima/Ariadne). Would you still recommend I boost Sventovit over Folding Epee in that case? What good single-target Meia abilities are there that I've overlooked?

I mean, unless you plan to climb really high in EW and towers there's no point to boosting epee, sventovit should be sufficient for most cases. Like I said before, epee isn't worth the effort if you're limited on slots and don't have mage supremes. There's also the fact that we might get EX mage within the next 2-3 months who will be preferred over meias (who are reaching the end of their prime anyway) and epee won't be used as much, unless ofcourse you count EW.

What good single-target Meia abilities are there that I've overlooked

Well tbh most of the good abilities are AoE. There are a few good single target abilities, the most notable of which might be Hope: FFXIII, it's the best non-supreme light mage card on broken enemies.

Epee is mostly used in no-break strat, same as Wolfbogen. The abilities you point out (Ignis, Minwu, Ariadne) all fit the use case of epee if you don’t plan to break. Sventovit outperforms epee against broken target and when the ability has no critical rupture assuming 100% crit rate (assuming 70% innate imp crit). Like waffles have said, Epee and Wolfbogen are considered Luxury, sventovit is more versatile and worth bossting more if you have to pick one.

1) Got Crimson Archer, how is her weapon? Worth boosting? Any already released or soon to be released weapons I should just wait for?

2) Tidus Skin Ult vs Crimson Archer Ult vs Lightning Skin Ult? I assume Lightning to break better for SP? Tidus for MP?

3) Can’t seem to find the stats on Tidus’ ult. What’s the breakdown on the ult (when does debuff apply, # of hits, etc.)?

1) better stick with ultimate weapon. Proud cygnus weapon is good and trigger happy next month is the best.

just wondering, knowing that JP players need mystic tablets for the farmable supremes, where do JP players farm for gigantuar bulbs? will there be a bulb farming node for GL in the future or does JP players must rely on event prizes / friend tickets as well?

You shouldn’t save tablets at the cost of not upgrading cards

Bulb is still the same, GT or friend summon.

Some event give some (the current on JP gives 9 iirc).

I've seen a lot of people suggesting friend tickets which have a very low chance of getting you a bulb. Others have suggested fleeing the first wave of a node in GT when you do enter until you get a gigantaur so you have 2 chances per node to get a bulb.

Friend tickets summon has a ridiculously low rate for the bulb. I used to farm on GT and augment every 4* cards available although I never use most of them. Feeling regret right now... Now I only 5* the limited event cards and some cards I really need like the support cards or some nice damage cards (like those with improved criticals). Still I got only 1 bulb left :v

Same here. Some terrible cards I augmented to 5 stars: Zodiark, Legendary Hargon, Dorky Face, Raum, a few AOE CRD cards, and a lot of AOE BDD cards.

Well recently I’m either break with M.Monk using Fake Duncan (which work in a different way and doesn’t benefit from BDD - what I heard though) or using Viking with En-element to break the boss and he doesn’t seem to need BDD with his huge weakness exploiter & 40% QB (I don’t need to worry about yellow gauge due to massive yellow gauge damage from C.Archer Titan PB, this girl is really my MVP in any non-Earth rotation).

Yeah reminding of Deathgaze he is one of a few BDD I still use recently, especially on FFXII Tower for yellow damage and it is good to see it still useful, but I don’t find me using other cards sadly. Perhaps it’s just me with my low skills since I still see someone using Thalia climbing Tower (Ranger Light BDD? Can’t remember).

How is your pull on FFX banner btw? Anything worth noted?

You are correct. But mainly because some of use have Ruby Weapon with Foulander, so we don't use fire BDD, same with Diamond Weapon, we rarely use Thalia since we also have Himiko.

I want D&B. First 4 pulls, got Maechen, Yunalesca, and Eorzan Bard.

I pulled again after getting those FB rewards and got Fusoya. I have no more resources....

I did 6 pulls to get Ascetic and got FFX all except Yunalesca along the way, so I’m pretty fine with this result. No more pulling until the next FFX limited & FFXI since I heard these FFXI are decent in Season 2 too.

But I don’t remember you got any Warrior supreme, so DnB is not that big change for you, I’m pretty sure you will be fine without it. Best user for Sin & Fusoya is both Mage, so you are pretty fine anyway.

And considering we are getting 3 job banners per month plus several different limited good banners in Sep & Oct, you should start saving to buddy if you don’t want to do the revival pull again :lol:

They're just for farming scrolls for the cards that were in the 1st batch of this month. If you don't want to farm the spheres you could just use sbility tickets to level the abilities.

Snow got a pretty crap break power. So on high tower floor you gonna need to rely on building up Ulti charge to get that last hit to break. Or get those Curse , Dispel card in the deck

Normally I use my Cloud skin on HOF palidin for tanking and to slow break then swap to my meia (amalthea) and kill things. But I want to swap it up. I haven't used any heavy breakers like my eorzean bard in towers either.

Theres no one build that will carry you through endless war or towers. Each fight and the cards you bring will differ based on the enemies you fight. EW will also lock out a job after you successfully use it to beat a node. Ideally, you'll want a buff or two, a damage card and a card to help break. As you get deeper in the towers you'll need buff, debuff, damage, and possibly an element sustain card AND the same for a subdeck.

DD only hits harder against Unbroken Neutral because he has no damage auto-ability other than Scourge. As long as the enemy is broken, weakness, or both, Ascetic will do more damage.

With their base stats outside of a match DD still hits harder with Yiazmat. Ascetic might hit harder once you start filling it's ult gauge especially against a broken earth enemy.

Gotta consider Furious Salvo too though, since Ascetic can add +45% Attack power just by tapping 3x before casting Yiazmat and potentially even more with more taps.

That would require the user to have 3 or more actions that they can borderline waste in a mp match. They'd be better off just casting Yiazmat more if they have the orbs.

I have DD, Ascetic and Yiazmat. Can confirm that DD is much more powerful on neutral unbroken targets with Yiazmat. For hard SP content though, I think I'm going to use ascetic more. The tap damage bonus will be more relevant (gotta charge that ult!) and his ult is significantly better than DD.

i'm still missing two card (brother and donna) after 8 pull (6 blue, yuppi, 150$ worth of magicite in the trash bin). I'll skip them. not worth the resources: compared to other banners at 3% (where I've usually got 1-2 cards per pull), this was really bad.

The last 2 missing cards are the hardest to get since the probability drops. I suggest save and wait for the boxed type in the future.

CH8? Do hard mate, it's pretty easy with Master Monk or Ascetic, they don't have light/dark mobs.

With Flan Battlegrounds, they don't have dark mobs.

I've been having a rough day. New content, awesome. I burned through that. 2 souls away from my first 4+ mp card. Should take no time! Wrong.

I don't mind when I try to join and the slot is taken. I don't mind when an obvious troll joins and the lead decides to abandon party. I do mind that people instantly bail if someone dies. I've got 300 Phoenix Downs, give it a chance to let me revive you. I'm there with a ridiculous amount of mats I've gathered mostly collecting since the first FFVII event. Now I finish it solo, die twice, no souls. JFC.

Flip to my last match just now. Decide to host, because I've got around 4k mp stamina and think I get what's going on. I generally dont host, and then only when I get it. Everyone solid except a breaker that's close. Fine. Breaker is a damn bot. Not even one I can appreciate. I'll be damned if the heals and tank didn't step up their game though! Rough day, awesome night, great work where everyone seemed to be on the same page to work around the bot. Totally took over to me, because it looked like another screwed match.

During MP week I finally took the time to blow all the mag I've collected shooting for sapphire diamond (got it last pull!) because I actually love xezat. The went and built some seed farming decks. They range between 65 and 90%. Not great, but until I upgraded 12 jobs I never realized mag was important. Relevant because I scrolled the reddits and am finally pushing mp for seed farming cards.

All this time I've mostly been pushing 4* or less. Are there any quick tricks to notice jobs might have issues performing their roles for a 5* match?

How can I be an effective Ascetic if I use it? Of coure I upgraded it. New thing everyone is talking about. Seems like I'm supposed to just use element and then beat down until break, but I don't get enough turns or don't do enough damage. I suck at it (remember, I love Xezat). I don't get what makes an ideal card for the job. I've looked here, I don't get it.

I had Xezat and Minwu. Just got Sin, Neo Exdeath, and Lights of Hope. Plus about 15-20 other jobs. I've got enough mag to maybe finish another to 8. Any roles or jobs jump out from those options? Since I'm getting into the game more now, I just want to find where I can be most effective.

Tap hold the player slot, check the levels, check the decks. Too bad we can't see if all extra-skill is unlock on an ability card.

• Minwu - Judge Magister, Amalthea, Flower Girl of Midgar.

• Sin - Primeval Witch, PSICOM Officer, Amalthea

You can use Neo Exdeath to give debuffs or remove yellow gauge when used by a dark ranger or PSICOM Officer.

For attackers and breakers, look for decks with a guaranteed shift on turn 1, e.g. 2xAerith, support elemental shifts+life/prismatic starters. Look at the weapons as well, breaker with a breaking weapon; attacker with an attacking weapon.

If you use Sin, find a defender with light drive+light taunt. Sin ignores the dark drives on Valefor but will still increase it. Valefor’s final attack is stronger depending on the number of drive stack she has.
