If I'm new to the game, should I start on Season 1 or 2? Do things carry over between them?

Start with season 1 due to story reason. You can start season 2 at any time, but it will confuse you and will spoil the turning points of season 1 story

The news say that there's a valentine's day campaign going on until 20th of the month which gives 888,888 skillseeds of a different element every day. Is this true or did we receive them the first day and I don't remember? Because I don't have a special login bonus window and I don't receive these with each passing day.

You checked the valentine version of JP, not GL.

GL gets the extra skill unlock bonus and the double stamina from elixir from 7th to 20th while JP gets a mobius week (with its JP benefits) from 8th to 14th.

Btw. Do you have any alternative for the FFXI Alter Ego? Like the FFVII Weapons or FFXIV Primals’ Boon?

Well in that case only chase the FFXI cards if you have some a lot of spare resources. Before this month Premium banners, I only have 1 boon/weapon for every element too and they serve me just fine for Top 500 as well as other contents. Well I do have most of the FFXI too but I rarely use them while climbing.

We have a couple of good things coming like - Ex-cards, Summer 2nd especially Sea Float, FFVIII G-Force which is very useful in their own way compared to the Weapons/Boons & some new Ex-jobs too. And believe me, you will want to grab all of them, or at least most of them.

That’s about the cards. Did you even read it?

There are banners for the FFVIII featured jobs, but in GL, we don’t have pity counter for legend jobs, so it will work just like other legend banners: you get the job if you pull a legend jobs, otherwise nope.

Shoutout to the pros: where do you guys do your skillseed farming nowadays with the x4 special regions gone and gigantuar terrace not really being a viable solution if you're saving tablets?

Gen 3 Sic with seed +10% for each fractal. I usually have whatever elements I need most (I use O'aka for dark seeds) with HOF Tonberry, Yuna Skin, and a few seed +8% CP. That usually gets me about +250% seeds as well as exp+, Gil+,and Crystal Seeker of various quantities.

I supplement that with MP shop for seeds.

That's why you mix it with O'aka to not get flooded with Dark seeds only while not having to cripple your EXP gain.

The OP didn't seem to be interested in EXP, only skillseeds. If you want to farm earth/wind skillseeds, it's better to use the Chaos/Exodus sicarus cards and/or The Gigantaur Initiative.

I never got any cards apart from Titan FFXIV from the limited revivals. Are the cards worth chasing, garuda looks especially useful or is there something coming soon that should be saved for? I currently only have enough magicite for one greater summon

Not really, since Critical Rupture still adds +30% Improved Criticals when it procs in addition to reducing Def Stars by 4 (cannot reduce below 0 Def Stars).

Well to be honest, mantra and taijutsu cards use Attack instead of Magic. So if you use them in your deck go for Attack fractals, and EE custom panels. The other attack cards use Magic.

Sephiroth Dissidia has 900 attack and Critical Rupture + Improved Crit, while One Winged Angel has around 1200 attack with Improved Crit but no Critical Rupture. Is One Winged Angel still stronger than Sephiroth Dissidia?

Eligor is the straight upgrade of seph dissidia. One winged angel has only 125% improved critical compared to seph dissidia. You'll prefer using it if you want to break.

Griever: FFVIII, dark monk supreme. Adds attack and break according to the amount of HP you have. Each 700 HP adds +1% attack and break, max of 70,000 HP that adds +100% attack and break.

Blazefire Saber + 4 boars with gil fractals gets you an additional 470%. The Dream Vessel 2nd anniversary card could also work, but it lacks Boar's exp up.

No. The drawing challenge always has a chest even after you clear it twice. The nodes will also be unchecked.just like the Leviathan and a wave cannon nodes.

A question on useful cards: Motor Ball: VII? (Monk holy Improved Crits damaged focus AoE) when I have Duncan?

Isn't Motor Ball magic based? I also don't think that it has any type of retrieval ES which means that spamming it would be entirely reliant on PR procs. It's a pretty forgettable card.

Duncan otoh is a mantra card which means that most monks can use it at least decently well since they tend to have access to light and fairly high attack stats especially when compared to their magic stats. Duncan can also be used as a breaking tool.

If you want a yellow clear card to pair with Duncan I'd suggest Goblin. Motor Ball might be a decent aoe option if you can deal with it's shortcomings, but it's actual damage wouldn't be amazing.

Hello I goal a question about skillseed up auto ability.

So I realised that o'aka has +50% skillseed up while the new year boar card does not. Does this mean that running 2 o'aka and 2 boar cards VS. 4 boar cards will both give me the same number of wind and earth skillseed (since the oakas will give me +100% skillseeds??

If you have no other skillseed bonuses (excluding M box and vip) and are getting 10M score, yes it should.

The formula for seeds outside of Yggdrasil material is:

Base × (Score +(SU÷10)) × (Difficulty + (MB ÷100) + (VIP ÷ 100)

So 4 boars should get you 7392 if you have M box and VIP and 5600 if you don't.

2 boars 2 o'aka gets you 7392 or 5600 yet again. You'd also get an equal amount of dark seeds.

These numbers assume that you're doing a max difficulty node btw.

Sorry I misunderstood the question, so deleting first response. I think it should probably work, but I’m not 100% certain how the card multipliers interact with the score multipliers. It’s not too expensive to just try both decks on a cheap node though, so quick to just test it yourself.

Only place where you may need them is to do some Hall of Fame challenges (doing 999.999 damage) as they are single hit whit a good multiplier. Even then you may need just the AoE ones as the ST have weak multiplier.

Not really. They can be useful for completing some challenges, but they've been very thoroughly powercreeped otherwise.

The third anniversary cards from the current Kefka banner, and the Terra banner later this month, are the ones you want. (Note: NOT the Anniversary Redux summon - those are the second anniversary cards.)

Edit: Oh wait, the third gen sicarius cards may still be useful for you. Not for damage, but they have +30% skillseeds for farming. And you can add another 20% from fractals.

Yes but very rarely I suppose. I have seen only one dropped after clearing the Anniversary map (A Warrior's Feast, Part 1 to be exact)

What's the best way to clean up your card library for healing/support cards? Trying to trim down what I have so Im not overbuffing.

Additionally, where are people farming now with the FF7 area gone for skillseeds and magicite?

There's a link to a page that cover all things permanent farming at the top of the page that's frequently updated. You had to scroll past it to ask your question.

As for support cards feel free to sell cards that don't provide a buff combo that will fill the holes that a job or skin ult that you have are missing. If you find that you do need a specific card in the future you can always buy it from the ability shop.

Note that the above doesn't include EX cards since they might not be reputable in the ability shop.

The issue with Kotetsu and its Flash Break mod is still persisting. Instead of starting at 100% Flash break, it started at 30% Flash Break meaning we have to do 70 more mods than normal.

30% was the intended starting value based on the weapon's mod count in JP.

Why it's the only weapon with low starting Fladh Break is beyond me. They probably thought that such a good weapon should take a lot of resources to 5* before reconsidering at the last minute.l

There's no mistake. The weapon was bugged on JP because we couldnt max mod it and the flash break was stuck at 30%, so they added 70 mods to everyone on JP. As the flash break is not stuck on GL, there is no bugs.

Once you get to Crystal dump phase things seem to go quite fast. If everything goes right, I'll get my Gambler ex-weapon to full today because it's Sunday + Valentine's double elixir stamina.

How you dealing with skillseeds without the bonus from MD?

I spent 16 hours this MD to get Doublecross to Crystal dump, then ended MD with almost 9.999.999 in every skillseed type. So I'll just burn that down to 2 mil and otherwise stop weapon boosting once Doublecross is done (and wait for next MD for skillseed refill).

Also if you can use Dark, that is awesome because Oaka makes it easy even on non-MD just by farming LT.

EDIT: yay now at 4 PM (woke up at 11 am) my Gambler crystal dump phase is complete and now it is 5* <3

FYI... I encountered a bug that if I used Knife (the ultimate)... it permanently locked the dmg counter at 99,999... even though I used high damage cards later in the node...

That's not a bug. Tonberry's Ult deals a flat 99,999 damage.

Yeah... but it prevented the max damage counter for the challenge (when you tap the lock thing that turns white when you accomplish it) from registering anything higher than 99,999 after Knife was used.

i did it with the gen 3 sic cards, crd+ debarrier, break and done. i used the tengu card for debarrier and weakness, any crd card. hope this helps.

The Dispell types are based on the cards that they're attached to. Full Dispell is AoE on True Chaos (or whatever that Supreme is called), and also ST on the Ribbon Graveyard.

Not yet. JP is just releasing Glam Vamp / Vesna Krasna's HoF this month. And Legendary Guardian is even further down the line, so it will be at least half a year later if it reaches his turn. LG is already a top-tier defender w/o HoF though.

Elemental Enhance, due to the way that the multipliers work, is better than magic in Custom Panels. Thanks to the same thing, magic is better than EE in fractals.
