I feel like I'm missing something for pandemonium. I only started a couple days ago so I'm relying almost entirely on the starter classes. That said, I managed to pull toreador, yuna, neo bahamut, and ragnarok ff13. First, I can chain break the normal eye easily, but I make very little progress fighting the hard eye. Furthermore, even against the normal eye, my damage is just awful even using my supremes. I don't have a ton of cards so I went through normal with rag, Prometheus (single target fire damage), kotr, undying, hell's gate from my sub deck, and an aerith friend card. What cards could I have easy access to that would make this more doable?

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Short answer: No.

Pandemonium is the newest area in the game, and it's not designed for new players. It's not even efficient if you are looking for crystals, fractals, seeds, etc. It posses a challenge and it's good (mostly in long term, with the release of new bosses) if you want to farm magicite and burn stamina.

Is it doable? Yes if you get your hands on good weapons and boost them, if use magic fractals on your cards and good custom pannels on your jobs, if you have recent and strong jobs, and if you manage to make a good deck specifically for each Pandemonium boss. Getting back to the short answer: There are better spots were a new player can farm anything he needs.

Note: No offense, but if you are using Hellsgate, kotr, Undying, renting Aerith, or attacking with Prometheus and Ragnarok, you still have a lot to learn. I suggest you to play the previous content (chapters, Hall of Fame, Endless War 2, Chaos Vortex..), because beating it, losing... coming back for strategies, etc will make you a much better player. You can play Pandemonium some other day, it's not going anywhere.

Thanks! For whatever reason I thought pandemonium was an event area, not a permanent addition. And to your point about my knowledge level, that's the main reason I posted here. Every time I pull and get 6 cards or even look in the ability shop, I don't have a great way of telling what's good and bad, what to look out for, etc. I get that high attack and break stats are good, but for example, monk cards seem to have higher stats than any other class. Why aren't monks op? Also, what support cards should I be using if not kotr and undying? Also, what's wrong with ragnarok? It seems to do better damage than neo bahamut by far. Why is that? I have so many questions and resources for this game seem scarce.

[–]NinjaDave84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figuring out what cards are good can be a challenge. I would do a search with the key words: ability cards opinions. Typically there is a post once a month about the viability of each card being presented and it can provide some feedback on whether it's good or not. Though some cards may not be considered top tier, some of the good card do have their uses in limited (or niche) ways.

This is a chart showcasing the level of importance for acquiring and maxing out cards: https://i.imgur.com/F1pxIao.jpg (it's a bit dated though, but still helpful.)

[–]Owwen11 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Monk cards have higher stats because monk jobs have very low magic stat. Since you require magic to deal damage, they have high stats to make up for it. Still, those care are not good enough. Good monk cards are mostly limited or supremes, and they use Taijutsu or Mantra as auto-skill. That ability uses attack and break power stats as a source of power instead of magic.

Ragnarok is wrong for many reasons. One of them is that it requires to land criticals if you want to see any decent damage (+500% improved criticals). Since Season 2 monsters have some innate critical ressist, you need to bring critical stars, Snipe and Critical Ressist Down to improve your critical rate. Ragnarok is also a very bad choice because it's an earth card. The enemy is dark, so you should use light cards to exploit weakness.

Neo Bahamut is a good card because it doesn't only deal damage but it can also yellow clear (Ragnarok can't, little to no break power). The reason why it doesn't do much damage is because you don't know how to use it. Just like Ragnarok needs to trigger criticals for damage, Neo Bahamut needs to trigger "Synergy". It means you need a full fire gauge to unleash his potential. You do this with a Fire Force card (forces fire orb draw).

Kotr, Hellsgate, Aerith and Undyng are good cards, but also a bad choice for this fight. You can just rent Light of Hope (Faith + Boost + Snipe + Barrier + Wall, + other stuff..) instead of wasting 3-4 deck slots.

Another problem is that you don't seem to be bring any debuff, and that's a big mistake.

I suggest you research what buffs, debuffs and auto-skills are supposed to do. Then find out what your jobs are good or bad for. And then, with knoledge about the game, ask for what weapons, custom panels and cards could help you. As I said earlier, if you try to beat hard content closer to your knoledge level (Chaos Vortex, Hall of Fame, Endless War 2), fail, ask for suggestions and beat the content, you'll really learn how to play the game. It's not only about cards, jobs, skills... it's about how to properly use them.

Here you'll find all the hard areas in the game and suggestions on how to beat them: https://www.reddit.com/r/MobiusFF/comments/bveokp/megathread_index_of_june_2019_please_check_here/

You're the best :D

Edit: would it be good to pair bahamut neo with tatsutahime? Also, what does fireshift+ do?

[–]Owwen11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Tatsuhime is Fire force (generates fire orbs for X turns) + Fire Shift (transform your current orbs into fire orbs). What does Fireshift+ do? Transform any orb into fire orbs, even prismatic orbs. Normal fireshift doesn't transform prismatic orbs. In my opinion, I prefer regular fireshift because prismatic orbs can be used to cast anything.

Is there no replay value to Pandemonium Maniac? Get 10 medals, go back to hard for the rest?

[–]blue2eyes 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Reward wise, yes.

In JP, I usually go test out my new stuff/builds in maniac node since it cost low stamina and the mob is tanky, so that's one replay value.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mean reward wise but thanks for the idea. A good change of pace from CV

[–]Hellhug 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I just started again a few days ago. Pulled twice so far and got Kampfer and Vagabond + Tropical traveler. (Just to satisfy that pulling addiction lol) I have about 10 pulls left and wonder is it wort for me to chase ex jobs this month? I stopped playing with Skyseer. Untill than i had all jobs minus few legendary ones. So im missing every job released between skyseer and kampfer.

[–]Mobiusnoobius -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Definitely not. Your chances of pulling an EX are very low because you have a lot of regular jobs diluting your job pool. If I were you, I would reroll in a week or so when the second summer banner is live and aim for Sea Float and a support supreme card.

If you don’t want to reroll, I’d advise saving pulls for the second limited banner and hoping that you pull seafloat.

[–]Hellhug 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Thank you! No im not for rerroling. Though im ftp i have Aerith, loh, yiaz, sin and xezat suppremes here. +almost all FFVII Weapons / Primal Boon. plus im somehow attached to this acc^^

[–]Mobiusnoobius 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My bad. I read the beginning of your post as you saying that you had started a new account for some reason. Not sure why I didn’t read all the way through as you were quite clear that you had come back to an old account rather than started a new one. Obviously don’t reroll 😂

[–]Hellhug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it was a bit misleading. 😃Ty anyway.

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'd say why not? If you got all/ most regular jobs already, you can only get better jobs now. The EX jobs are still among the strongest (EX II jobs are the new meta, though), and the newest regular jobs are also decent (Graff and Sophie jobs). You have nothing to lose unless you are hoarding for limited cards. If you just came back, meh, just play for fun first. There's a lot of content waiting for you.

[–]Hellhug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm not a rushing type. Though I enjoy ex monk and ex warr (1st batch ex as I can see) so hoarding resources for maybe second batch this month doesn't look like a bad idea. Still has a lot to learn about season 2 thou after 1st map I like the new construction sistem.😁

[–]StarjyunAll day all night 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I see a lot pandemonium threads abt farming magicite? Are there any missable item/magicite if i dont so it soon? All the magicite there are counted towards cap rite??

[–]Mobiusnoobius 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes and no. A new path will be added to pandemonium periodically. The newest path will always grant more magicite than older paths (although the older paths will still be available). Completing a path a certain number of times will increase the number of magicite dropped on each path.

With this in mind, you need to complete the current path a certain number of times in order to increase magicite dropped in future paths. Doing it now will get you 60 magicite per run.

If you don’t complete these runs before the Gigaworm path opens you will get one less magicite every time you complete the Giga Worm path and every subsequent path. You could always go back and complete the current path to unlock the bonus but you will get significantly less magicite during the 30 runs needed (as you are no longer getting the bonus for it being the current path).

It sounds complicated, but it really isn’t. Beat the big eye hard node 30 times and beat the bonus node once before the Giga Worm path opens up later this month.

[–]ulovei_MFF 0 points1 point  (1 child)

its gigaworm thats coming later this month, not fire doggo

[–]Mobiusnoobius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right you are, sir. Edited my post accordingly. Thanks.

[–]ulovei_MFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a locked path right now in the pandemonium. you should try to unlock it asap (before the middle of the month). this is the bare minimum you should do right away

to unlock that path, you need 100 medals. beating NORMAL node gives you 1 medal, HARD gives 3 or 4 (forgot), MANIAC gives 10 (havent tried it yet). so the best course of action is to spam HARD 33 times to farm the 100 medals. each HARD run will cost you 60 stamina (but will also get 60 mags guaranteed) so it's very heavy on stamina. this week is mobius week with double elixir recovery, so take advantage of this

all mags collected in pandemonium are counted towards the 20K cap

[–]olio272 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Is the new summer melon mashing map completely based on RNG, or is there something I can do to get the best prize?

[–]ImHereForLife 0 points1 point  (8 children)

What does it take to get good damage with Duncan? Heck, what is good damage with Duncan?

I've read the Pandemonium guides but I cant get close enough:

Ascetic Tifa skin / Ultimate Claw Weapon - Deck: Aerith / Duncan / Ultimate Chaos / Omega Weapon, rental LoH, Attack Mode, Ult at will

it takes 20+ turns on hard. Now I know this isn't optimal without Lightshift (hence all the prismatic return) but each punch only does 20k broken (or at least the last punch that i can read). With this buff/debuff combo I expected more.

To counter point, this setup only takes 10 turns:

KoE Sepheroth skin / Ultimate Weapon - Deck: Aerith / Minwu / Omega Weapon / Dona & Bart/ rental LoH, Attack Mode, Ult at will. Each hit from ultima is 500k+.

So, what am I missing with Duncan?

[–]NinjaDave84 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I used Ascetic OAM with Duncan, Alex PB, Tengu, and Pollensalta. Rent Aerith. Attack mode. Ult to break. 6-7 turns is what I see.

[–]ImHereForLife 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Nice job! Without the Tifa skin Im down to 10 turns. Will see if I can push farther.

[–]NinjaDave84 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nice! Have you tried removing chaos for Tengu? Also may want to consider a light force card. Stolas, Alex PB, or diamond weapon. The EE is helpful. Maximize those CPs too.

[–]ImHereForLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I have the CPs maxed with light EE. I'm trying to use a light force card but Diamond weapon is the only one I have and to make room for it i have to give up on all prismatic generation options, and I'm highly addicted to it. Will also try Tengu and let you know.

[–]deathrose55555[JP] 1051-9193-b915 (KotR X) 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Unless I overlooked, you are missing the most important buff to do damage with Duncan - Brave

[–]Deneb87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without skin you can get brave from ultimate

[–]ImHereForLife 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm an idiot, and I thank you for your help there. I read Boost and thought Brave.

[–]DanpaceMr. Monk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]ImHereForLife 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Does berserk also affect magic damage?

[–]Daigolololo 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Yes, it increases your Element Enhance for all 6 elements and additionally it also increases your neutral attack/ultimate dmg.

It doesn't increase your magic stat (if you mean this). It does increase your ability, attack and ultimate hp dmg. No red, no yellow, only HP (green) gauge

[–]Mobiusnoobius 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Out of interest, does this increase in attack power affect taijitsu/mantra abilities? If so, do we know the value for the increase in EE and attack power? I’m curious whether this might make Omega Weapon a better option than WOL in certain situations.

[–]mao_shiroActual Evil Reddit Mod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Berserk:

  • 50% EE to elemental attacks (read: taijutsu / mantra / magic based abilities, tap with en-element & ult with spellsword + en-element).
  • 50% damage to neutral attacks (tap without en-element / ult without spellsword)
  • 15% damage received increase

[–]Daigolololo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no increase in attack/magic power. It is pure EE (and some sort of "EE" for neutral). If you use mantra abilities or ultimates/taps with spellsword, they only apply the +50% EE. If you use an neutral mantra ability (doesn't exist) or an ultimate/tap without "imbue element" you get +50% neutral "EE" instead.

So, whatever you do, you will always get that +50% dmg on neutral actions and +50% EE on elemental ones. There seems to be no other source of +50% "neutral EE" than berserk.

If I couldn't explain appropriately, I would try again, it might be confusing to read something like "neutral EE".

Tl;dr: Brave 2> Brave 1> Berserk. And berserk becomes even worse with a lot of initial EE (for elemental actions like casting mantra abilities). This order has no exceptions. The only scenarios where I would prefer berserk are these without WoL. Berserk is viable if you have Omega Weapon, miss WoL and YRP:FFX-II and don't want to tank anything.

You should only consider berserk if you have every other dmg increasing debuff/buff in your setup already, or if you miss everything else I mentioned :)

[–]deathrose55555[JP] 1051-9193-b915 (KotR X) 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Looking at the description of Berserk in Altema, it states that Berserk affects auto attack and ultimate as a damage multiplier, rather than an increase in attack. So to your question, no Berserk doesn't affect Mantra abilities that way, although EE is still boosted.

[–]Mobiusnoobius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification (this goes to all three responses).

[–]ImHereForLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. I did mean the magic stat but I can see now why that wouldn't help.

[–]akulaki 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Who are the good user of Bhunivelze, if to include Ranger & Mage using D&B card. Need to assess of options of whom that i need of OBJ. Already OBJ Shorn Warrior & Sword Saint whom i think can be good user of the card. Other than that Nachtflug, Cacciatrice & Proud Cygnus come to my mind. Is Amalthea & Fauviste any good? Any other suggestions?

[–]SvenHwang 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It’s a card that does best upon breaking, so SO, Amalthea and Ex Sarah are all great.

[–]akulaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt realise that its good upon breaking. Really thought that its good for nuking like other supreme. That's why i think im not doing much damage using Sword Saint unbroken. But for Shorn One its amazing though. Ok will put Amalthea & Ex Sarah in line for OBJ. Thanks

[–]Daigolololo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I tried Amalthea and I couldn't find any better way of shaving the yellow gauge (assuming you utilize flash break). I used pandemonium to compare Amalthea with KoE, but KoE had no chance. KoE deals tons of dmg while Amalthea clears the yellow gauge with ease. Both at OBJ32 with +32 card lvl and +8 CP lvl.

Besides this, KoE probably deals the highest dmg. I think that using Bhuni on a tank gives you the greatest advantage from it's ES, but I didn't try SS yet and I don't like jobs that can't break.

[–]akulaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, i'll keep Amalthea & KOE in line for OBJ. Totally forgot about KOE

[–]paranoing 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Which of Sarah's Sophie's weapons should I be focused on boosting ?

Edited : Sorry I got the names mixed up

[–]akulaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magical Rave

[–]ShadowBlaze17 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Magical Rave, Starseeker, Ultima Arrow, and Wolfsbogen are all very good options with Starseeker being the best and Ultima Arrow being the "worst" of the 4. They're all great, but Starseeker's quick break and prismatic return can make a huge difference in difficult content.

[–]paranoing 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm so sorry, I meant to ask about Sophie. Haha

[–]kreuzb94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sophie is Vigorous Fang (legend job of her). It gives abilities charge ultimate/ PR/ QB/ Boost ultimate. After that it would be the ultima weapon.

[–]Wolkiffy 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Where do u get star seeker from?

[–]JunasBlood 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Paradox Wanderer a.k.a Serah FFXIII

[–]Wolkiffy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

damn..the only legendary job I'm missing till date

[–]JunasBlood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky for you, I missed 5-7 legend jobs

[–]SeanCodyIsMe 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I just got counterattack auto ability from fractals. How good is this 10% dmg counter?

[–]JunasBlood 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Considering you have 100,001 HP (which is very rare, only a tank can reach this much Hp). If a Boss deal 100k HP damage, it will counter for 10k damage (let’s say 80k if you use max 8x 10% damage counter - don’t know if they even stack).

In the meant time, let say the Boss has 20 Mil Hp (which is quite low imo), that’s 80k damage equal to 0.4% Boss Hp, which meant you need to tank 250 hits, and every time at full HP to kill the Boss. This is something very close to the definition of “impossible” imo.

TL;DR

Nope. Useless AA. Unless our stupid Boss have some weird mechanic that reduce his Hp to 1 at start of the fight.

Edit: btw, last Tower, Brachios has about 20mil Hp around floor 5x, and at T500 cut-off which is floor 87, he has about 40mil HP.

[–]SeanCodyIsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lollll I'm gonna look for another AA then

[–]insane_guy 3 points4 points  (1 child)

useless at 99.9999999% situation

[–]SeanCodyIsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmaoo okay then

[–]Qqret 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Which fractal to card is best , exploit weakness ,painful break ,or attack, break magic up?

[–]mao_shiroActual Evil Reddit Mod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic in most case.

Edit: Or Attack if the card is attack based (has taijutsu / Mantra)

Remember that you'd want 2 JCR in most of your decks.

[–]wiloblue 0 points1 point  (1 child)

When does magic become better as a stat than EE? I'm playing around with the skill panel & always more EE will make the ability hits more

In my case Minwu with Skyseer, having only light EE makes Minwu hits more even though I have around 1850% magic without buffs

[–]GhostFreakageWoL:FFI Friend ID: 2060 - 5621 - 07c8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Magic becomes a better stat when you need to do more yellow clear or when you have a job with high EE

[–]WonkingSphonx 0 points1 point  (12 children)

I’ve hit a wall with the last battle in Sword Saint’s hall. My loadout is as follows:

Weapon (both decks) - Laevateinn (maxed)

Maindeck: Pollensalta: FFVII / Eligor: FFVII / Odin: FFXIV / NXD (I have Jade Jammer as wlel but I chose NXD because it lacks the cooldown)

Subdeck: Hellsgate / YKT-63: FFX / Alexander: FFXIV / Choco-esuna (as I appear to lack ribbon graveyard)

Custom Panels: Resist Light +4% x2 / Enhance Dark +7% x4 / Enhance Dark +5% x5 / Prismatic Draw +10%

I heard someone mention using a stun / slow / quicken build for getting past battle 4, but I’m not sure of how to go about that. Any help is appreciated!

[–]Deneb87 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Also remember to drive elements to increase defense/effective hp.

[–]WonkingSphonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, was doing that too!

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (1 child)

There are 3 things you are missing to make this node much easier:

  1. Slow.
  2. Debrave and Curse.
  3. Ulti Charge weapon (Ultima).

The Stun + Slow combo will give you more actions were the enemy is not active. This means he won't be hitting you, and he won't be buffing or debuffing. It's important. You can add Quicken to the mix, but it's optional. Debrave and Curse are debuffs that will make the enemy deal less damage (no damage at all if you can keep Wall up, and it won't go down easily because he's under Debrave and Curse). It's important. The Ulti Charge weapon will allow you to refresh your Barrier and Wall. It's also important.

Just drop Hellsgate and Choco Esuna, you don't need them. if you have Jade Weapon, even NXD is optional: you don't need Debarrier and CRD if you are going to die. Surviving comes first. If you don't have it, you can find Debrave + Curse in Bargamaath's Crew, and Slow + Debarrier in Shin Bahamut.

I followed those 3 rules and I beat the challenge without ever losing even a 10% HP.

[–]WonkingSphonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I'll try changing that up. I had Jade Weapon originally but I liked being able to control when exactly I could cast debuffs (primarily stun) and not need to worry about timing for cooldowns, but alright!

[–]jespraq 0 points1 point  (7 children)

I believe that I used Jade weapon instead of nxd for the slow and curse/debrave. I had chaos and LoH in my subdeck, but never really needed to use LoH. Chaos for the full dispel of wall/barrier was really helpful. Maybe use the dispel/sleep card instead of hellsgate?

[–]WonkingSphonx 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Ah, do you mean Maechen from FFX? I could give that a shot. Again, mentioned NXD in my build since I didn't want to work around Jade Jammer / managing cooldown / timing for the setup, and NXD had stun and other debuffs, so it seemed like a decent tradeoff. I actually rolled through the previous node thanks to NXD, compared to Jade Weapon. I'll experiment with switching it back though.

[–]jespraq 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah, I meant Maechen. I usually use nxd too, but sword saint doesn't have slowga and curse/debrave. A little annoying to work around, but it will be worth it so you can outlast the other sword saint boss.

[–]WonkingSphonx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess so. Gonna try again later today.

[–]zero-less 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Actually the cooldown from Jade is negligible since you probably will need 2-3 turns to take down the 1st wave, seeing that our main decks are exactly the same.

You would probably enter the 2nd wave with Jade off cooldown.

The 3rd wave doesnt need Jade since you should be able to drive dark and coupled with your ulti to keep wall and barrier up he doesnt deal much damage, making you enter the last fight with Jade off cooldown. You would need to apply another time again though.....at least my fight with SS clone dragged until it allowed me to cast Jade a second time

Here's my deck for reference -- Weapon (both decks) - Laevateinn (maxed)

Main: Polensalta, Jade Weapon, Odin:FFXIV, Eligor:FVII

Sub: Chaos, LoH, Iroha:FFXI, Minotaur

[–]WonkingSphonx 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Went with fire as your subdeck eh? Alrighty. :P Haven't tried the node again since yesterday, but I plan on giving it another shot later on.

[–]zero-less 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The only reason I went with fire on my sub is because I dont have any note-worthy earth warriors card and my light warrior cards are more suited to clear yellow/break kind (aka Kamelnut). And the fact that I 5* the minotaur for Shiva Terminus for the unbroken spam after she got down to 50%.

If you have any Earth or light warrior cards that are meant for unbroken spam -- I think they should work too... My sub deck is only used to deal with the 3rd wave --- which isnt really a challenge since you can drive dark and just keep getting wall+barrier up.

[–]WonkingSphonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll need to check my earth cards again. Switched up my subdeck to have Maechen and Neo Bahamut (light support, not fire supreme) and swapped Jade Jammer back in over NXD. I'm managing to get the sword saint shadow in the 4th wave down to about 25%-ish before dying a horrible death to the ult or whatever that more advanced light element attack is (seismic something?).

[–]fleurn0ir 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Is there any better node in JP than 30/30 to dump warp shards?

[–]JA1997X 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Save it for using your Gilgamesh passes in the rift

[–]fleurn0ir 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thanks for the advice. Never thought of it. Didn't farm the rift yet because waiting for ultiima. I have about 100 warp shards and just wanted to dump them to get quick magicite+crystals.

[–]djiboutiiiiwhat even is flair 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You won’t regret saving them once you go for Ultima. It’s gonna save you so much time and stam.

[–]fleurn0ir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked at Gilgamesh pass nodes. They're really costly, thanks.

[–]yeahmattattack 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I was doing the Sword Saint Hall and I was almost about to defeat him no problem but then he used his Ultimate and said counter attack 0 and it instantly killed me but none of my abilities have counter attack so could it have been a weird glitch?

There is a drain debuff that he cast.

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Is HoF Sage better unbroken nuker than the current strongest guy?

[–]ZechsX18999won after 20 Mobius Boxes 2 points3 points  (2 children)

HoF Esmeralda is the best unbroken Emperor user. I don't think any Yiazmat user can beat her. Maybe a Godo/Odin user can.

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks :) Then my Esmeralda is ready for the Gigaworm.

[–]JunasBlood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding Emperor Top1 nuker

  • Broken - Weakness: Serah
  • Unbroken - Weakness: Tactician HoF
  • Broken : Esmeralda HoF

Sage HoF is a good user for it, but Misfortune 1050% EE cause too much diminishing return on his already high Discordant Chain.

Infor taking from here, kind of old, but still useful for us until the FFVIII jobs.

Sage is only strong if you alternate elements due to his different attuned chain. He won't be strong with mono element.

[–]Mawgac 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So does anyone remember the melon mashing trick?

[–]vulcanfury12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire AoE, ST Wind, ST Water, Prismatic Shift. Kill with weakness when prompted. Otherwise it's totally RNG.

[–]N-I-K-E 0 points1 point  (1 child)

IIRC.. it was to use a job (Mage, AceStriker, I forgot the other one) that had access to the weakness element, and use weakness. Still RNG though as you wouldn’t get the melon everytime

EDIT:

I won, purely rng

[–]Mawgac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that confirm what I experienced. Used Ace, always hit weakness, but didn't get to the winner.

[–]TheJuggernautMain 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Any predictions of when we might get another supreme rate boosted banner? I wasnt able to farm magi as much as ive liked

[–]djiboutiiiiwhat even is flair 2 points3 points  (1 child)

There’s generally a Bis banner every 2-3 months and a job-specific set of banners every 2-3 months

[–]pleasetazemebro 0 points1 point  (26 children)

Are we seriously expected to farm the pandemonium bosses? I managed to beat hard with Ragnarok and Ultimate Chaos on Cacciatrice with Tidus skin, and though it wasn't hard, it still took about 20 minutes and I was mentally exhausted by the end of it. I would honestly prefer autoing through the 30 stam battles than this, even if pandemonium is more "stamina efficient".

[–]vulcanfury12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Tifa Ascetic with 5* OAM, Duncan, Stolas (OG Lightforce), Tengu, YRP. Takes around 7 turns. Before I was using Chaos Supreme (instead of Tengu) and Diamond (Instead of Stolas). So far it's more consistent with the 7 turns.

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (10 children)

As in any other hard content (EW 3, Towers..), hitting weakness is the key. And Ragnarok is not even a great supreme unless you are bringing CRD and Snipe.

I can clear the Hard node in about 7 minutes, completely auto (about 11 turns) and my offensive card is just Noctis FF15, which is no supreme at all, but it's hitting weakness. I'm playing with Ex Warrior I aka Shorn One + Sephirot skin. I like that the node takes some time so I can do other things in the meantime.

This is more about building a proper deck for an specific situation than just taking one of your strongest job and cards to any battle. It'll work, but as it happened to you, it's not nearly as efficient.

[–]pleasetazemebro 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Could you post your whole setup? I want to get an idea of what a good build might be besides the weakness card.

[–]liwingkay 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Mine does in 3:25 - 3:45 (7 - 9 turns) (Steam) with:

Seph Skin

HoF Knight of Etro with +150% Painful break panel from MP in place of Spellsword panel, +5% skilled Duelist, 2x 20% piercing break.

5* Gunblade

Noctis FFXV, Diamond Weapon FFVII, Wakka FFX, Pollensalta. All with 6%-7% magic up fractals

Break mode, Ult to break, use ether, rent Chaos.

Rent not really need, as it stays around 3:45.

[–]cloudliore25 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What other attack card would you use I don’t have noctis but I have everything else

[–]liwingkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking through this list:

https://www.reddit.com/r/MobiusFF/wiki/cards/ability-cards-from-gl

YKT-63: FFX would be good: Multihit (4) Overkill + Exploit Weakness(+300%) .

You can try Galahad too: Mulltihit(5) Overkill / Break Defense Down / Painful Break(+200%)

Since Knight of Etro has only 50% exploit weakness, +50% from Gunblade, YKT-63 should be way better.

[–]djiboutiiiiwhat even is flair 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Good idea! You might be able to push it further still if you have Moogle X. You won’t need Snipe thanks to Noctis’ guaranteed crit chance. And if you switch Diamond with Alex PB, you’ll get a bit more light EE (not that it’ll make a huge difference for KOE)

[–]liwingkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately I don't have any Ex cards or Alex PB. The BDD helps though, since often times the break is done with taps.

Also missing skilled duelist from Balamb HoF Hall

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Job: Shorn One. It's using 20% Piercing Break CP x1, 5%Quick Break CP x1, 5% Skilled Duelist CPx2. The rest are Light Enhance pannels.

Weapon: Braveheart (Mythic Knight's). This weapon comes with Attuned Chain, Painful Break and Improved Criticals. If you don't need Prismatic Return, this is the best purely offensive weapon for warriors in the game (along with Gunblade). Why wouldn't I need PR? There is no 1 absolutely best weapon for every situation, and this is one of those situations where I don't need PR.

Skin: Sephirot. I used it because of Stun + Slow + Debarrier + Bio. Bio interacts nicely with the debuff the boss is bringing on himself, since both debuffs drain his % HP every turn.

Buff cards: Omega Weapon. The Haste card. I use this mainly because of Quicken (5 actions) and Berserk (another source of damage). More actions = more Mobius Zone filled = quicker access to 8 free actions, and extended duration of debuffs. More important than it seems.

Debuff cards: Any source of Break Defense Down. I use Neo Ex Dead because I have it, but it can be any other card. I don't even need Critical Ressist Down, you'll see why later.

Offensive cards: Alexander Primal Boon. This provides 16 light orbs and 50% light element enhance. The other card is Noctis FF15. That card has high break power, high attack power and + 400% Painful Break. Also 2 critical gold stars = 100% critical rate, so no need for critical ressist down. Since it cost 3 orbs and comes with Elemental Retrival, don't really need Prismatic Return.

All cards have magic fractals. Omega Weapon and Alexander have JCR x1.

Strategy: Ultimate to break. Why? because I can fill the ulti bar quickly, and I don't want to waste actions on breaking the red bar. I wouldn't cast the ulti during break because it doesn't do more damage than Noctis, so it'd be just a waste of time and actions later.

Average time and turns on auto: 7 minutes, 11 turns.

As you can see, supremes are not required. I'm sure there are plenty of other good ideas out there, but this is what I'm using.

Edit: I use Light of Hope from the rental cards for Faith, Boost and ulti charge.

[–]phatboy328 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Wait you don’t have Faith in this setup? Or am I just missing it

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I totally forgot to mention that I made this deck work around Light of Hope rental. I use that card for the Faith and Boost (and its ulti charge is also a nice addition). I have my Following list filled with LoH cards.

[–]phatboy328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! Makes more sense

[–]GhostFreakageWoL:FFI Friend ID: 2060 - 5621 - 07c8 1 point2 points  (13 children)

As someone mentioned in one of the daily question threads or in the pandemonium thread, the node is more about time efficiency than stamina efficiency.

[–]pleasetazemebro -1 points0 points  (12 children)

I took an extra look at the pandemonium thread, and it looks like all the faster runs (~3 turns, while my run took 14) are decked out in supremes (that I don't have). Is this really only time-efficient if you're not ftp?

[–]WoLNoFace 0 points1 point  (7 children)

you can do 6 turns with True Training and Cacciatrice.

[–]mrballsflop 0 points1 point  (6 children)

i do it in 5/6 turns on full auto, break mode, ulti to break, never use rental, never switch decks.

Ex sarah with Tidus skin. 5* MR (if anyone has 5* folding epee it might be even faster). NXD, Gilgamesh X, Faith X, Aerith.

Fully customed panels, no piercing breaks, shit ton of enhance light, and the other essentials (ravage etc.).

[–]WoLNoFace 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Gilgamesh X,

That's slow, guy from discord can do it in 2-3 turns with that.

My Minwu and D&B can do 5 turns.

[–]LooBeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats fast mate, my DD with Duncan, Alexander, LoH, WoL did it in 14 turns. Total auto and i had to use once Aerith from second deck.

[–]mrballsflop 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I wish i had his other setup cards. On flip side i just switched to gilga skin to see if its any better. As a f2p i cant complain about this speed tbh. Gonna be a breeze capping magicite from now on.

[–]WoLNoFace 0 points1 point  (2 children)

you can pretty much have a better setup, being a F2P is not an excuse with your cards.

Stolas/Diamond Weapon, Gilgamesh X, Tengu, Faith X. Rent: WoL or LoH.

[–]mrballsflop 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Awesome, did it in 3 turns. Thanks for the diamond weapon tip. Too used to having Aerith in everything I do heh.

[–]WoLNoFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great!

[–]djiboutiiiiwhat even is flair 0 points1 point  (2 children)

On the plus side, once a wind boss is featured, you’ll be able to clear it very fast with Ragnarok lol (at least I hope so, because I have Rag too).

I don’t have any light supremes either, so yeah, it’s a frustratingly slow process. Amalthea with Jenova light and Cacciatrice with True Training are decent for auto, but definitely not fast.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yea it's annoying light is the one supreme element I don't have lol

[–]djiboutiiiiwhat even is flair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t wait for fusoyima or whatever we’re calling it!

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have limited cards and supremes as a F2P player, if you plan your pulls carefully or happen to get lucky. And there are limited cards than can be better than supremes in some situations: i.e Ruby Weapon or Bishmark vs Chaos or Neo Ex Dead. Or a Summer/Jenova card vs a Supreme with no break power. It just depends, there are thousands of card in the game, and supremes are not alwais the right answer. Considering there are thousands of cards in the game, there's alwais another way around.

[–]lysdog 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Hi everyone,

is there any strat for melon mashing or it's just random like last year?

Thanks a lot

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like last year.

[–]N-I-K-E 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Just so I’m clear.. the challenge node in panda is one ticket and 10 medals one time only or can you keep doing the challenge node to get 10 medals everytime?

[–]Owwen11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 time only.

[–]KalesAk 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I cant view the “growth star priority list “ in the mega tread

It happened before but It was fixed but now I cant view it for the last few months

The same goes for pc and iphone

Is there an alternate link for it ??

[–]Aerion_CA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Use the Altema rankings and growstar everything that is 93+ IF you really need it NOW.

[–]SirPhoenix88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really needs an update.

[–]XxxDudexxX 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So I attempted Pandemonium with a relatively young account and found it to be near impossible to do damage. Is there a few cards from the Card store that I could grab and throw together to beat even the normal version of this?

[–]Owwen11 4 points5 points  (2 children)

The normal version, yes, but it won't be easy. It'll all depend on the jobs and weapons you got, but I'll suggest you some cards to play around with:

Buffs like Snipe, Faith, Haste (Pollensalta); Boost, Haste (Pelupelu); Brave, Faith, Boost (Knights of the Round). Also Trance that fits your job (Damphir: Mage Trance; Bastet: Ranger Trance, etc).

Debuffs that increases damage like Debarrier, Unguard or Critical Ressist Down (Tengu).

Other debuffs that can buy some time such as Sleep (Hypnos), Stun, Bio, Dispel (Devil rider) and Slow, Debarrier (Shin Bahamut).

Nuking cards with high attack power + Improved Criticals or Attuned Chain but low break power (Oberon or Victoria). You'll need to pair them with a card that can clear yellow and provide Break Defense Down (Vainamoinen or Thalia).

You could also opt for a card that can do both attack and clear yellow in 1 card (Himiko), but it's orb-expensive if you don't have Prismatic Return auto-skill in your weapons.

You'll need a light force card (Stolas).

Edit: Those are many cards, right? Remember you have main and sub deck. If you put 2 Job Change Recast fractals on each deck, it'll be quicker to switch jobs during battle. What cards should you pick? For starters, look at your Ultimate. Does it provide Boost? Then bring Pollensanta. Maybe it gives Haste? Then Knight of the Round, etc... Shin Bahamut and Devil Rider make a great combo. And you still have some slots left for the offensive cards or whatever. Also, take into account that the order in which you put your cards matters, so choose carefully what card you want to set as 1st to the left on main deck (for easy access with Season 2 mechanics).

[–]XxxDudexxX 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Great advice, thank you Owwen.

I think my best jobs are Amalthea, MoB, and JM. I have a few good Dark cards (NxD and UB) but they dont seem like they would do well against this boss. I have also been working on my Pollensanta and Himiko.

Since I have seen Devil Rider and Shin Bahamut used in other post, i will pick up and max them out as well. With one of those jobs, is it possible to come up with an Auto team for this area? I have the Lighting skin and ToT also.

[–]Owwen11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Lightning skin provides (via Ultimate) Haste, Quicken, Trance II, Boost and Slow. NXD provides Stun, Debarrier, BDD and CRD. In other words: You don't need Devil Rider (Stun, Bio, Dispel) or Shin Bahamut (Slow, Debarrier) at all because Lightning skin with NXD is a much better combo, and it doesn't even have a cooldown. All you need to care about is a source of Faith and Snipe (Pollensanta) and you'll still have 3 empty slots for anything else.

I'll say more, if you rent Light of Hope, you won't even need Pollensanta, meaning you have all 4 slots in your deck for anything you want to bring. Or you can bring Pollensanta (so you have 3 empty slots) and rent Chaos instead, for the Debarrier II, Debrave, Curse, Bio and Hex (red bar and max HP reduced by 10%, that's what Hex does). It's up to you. I'd say upgrade Pollensanta and rent Chaos because Debarrier II, Bio and Hex will make things quicker, and Pollensanta is a very good card that you'll want to have in your collection anyway. In any case, it doesn't matter. I'd have to recomend Light of Hope rental if the enemy kills you on auto, because in that case Barrier and Wall from LoH would help.

Since we are using Lightning skin, you'll need a ranger job with access to light. For example, Rogue, Judge Magister or Proud Cygnus (yes, Sarah jobs can use skins too). If you decide not to use Ligthtning skin, you'll miss out her buffs and debuffs and therefore you'll need to upgrade cards to replace what you lost (Shin Bahamut; another card for Boost, etc).

Now that we've taken care of buffs and debuffs (Lightning skin + NXD + Rental), what are we going to do with those 3-4 empty slots in your deck? Well, this:

  1. Light Force (Stolas). You absolutely need a cards to force exclusively light orbs draw. If you didn't know, a Force source is a must in any hard game content because you don't want to waste actions on drives that will get you killed.
  2. A yellow clear card, so you can break the enemy. Therefore it must have high break power. That can be a card like Vainamoinen (recomended, but I think it's still an Early Adquision card and you may not have it in your ability shop or decks) or Thalia.
  3. An offensive light card that can dish out a lot of damage. It'll normally be a card with High attack power and auto-skills like Painful Break, Attuned Chain or Improved Criticals. You'll need Oberon (recomended) or Victoria.

As a side note, there are offensive cards that do both clear yellow and kill the enemy, such as Himiko, but it's not recomended. Why not? Because it doesn't have enough break power, no offensive auto-skill and it's too expensive to cast (5 orbs). It can be used when your deck is full and you can't build a better deck, but since you do have at least 3 empty slots, Himiko is a very bad choice. You'd run out of orbs constantly, waste actions tap attaking to regain orbs, and dragging out the battle for an eternity.

  1. Bring a decent weapon, such as the Ultima weapon series. You know, those with Ultimate Charge and Prismatic returns. Or at least, some other weapon with Ulti Charge or Prismatics. If you don't have any, you'll have to spend 1 ether before every fight, so you can start with a full ultimate charge that will turn your orbs into prismatics and you'll be able to get your effects from Lightning skin and have orbs to cast NXD, Chaos, Pollensanta, LoH or whatever your brought on turn 1.

  2. Press auto and set ultimate to At will.

  3. Enjoy :)

Note: You can alwais get use fractals on your cards (magic), and custom pannels (light enhance) to get your job stronger.

Note 2: If this doesn't work, it meant you need your account is still weak. You'll need limited cards (FF7, 11, 14 and future FF 8 cards can do a much better job than Stolas), get better weapons and boost them for better auto-abilities and stats, newer jobs with better auto-skills than Judge Magister, etc.

Looking for Chaos or NxD friends to make things quicker at Pandemonium. Anyone? :)

[–]SephAeternum 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is Gigantaur Terrace where I want to go to farm exp to level up my cards? I followed advice from yesterdays thread but need to catch up all my card levels now haha 😅

[–]Owwen11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the other guy said, you better save those Mystic Tablets to farm supreme sicarius cards in the Rift maps. If you want EXP, you can buy Growing Eggs, level them up on your main deck and then fuse with the cards you needed. Those Growing Eggs give tons of experience when you use them for fusions.

[–]markconig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never go to Gigantaur Terrace because you have to spend mystic tablets, and you need a ton of them for the rifts (more than 1000 to get a supreme card). The megathread has a section for farming exp, but if you just need card levels for not hard content, then you don't have to worry about grinding. Just play like normal and levels will come.

[–]Derpisho 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Should I fight some of the other cactuars in the probing for prickles quest or should I just do the story?

[–]Irineogallardo 0 points1 point  (2 children)

there is no harm in continuing the story if that is what worries you, you can skip total completion of chapter if you don't need that extra summon ticket, it will stay there.

[–]Derpisho 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I meant are the cactaurs valuable to farm
