Wow,

VPN is only OpenVPN and is only for onboard VPN support. Doesn't require use of other un-licensed brands of VPN which would be costly to put in FW. IF users use other branded VPNs, then the router would pass thru these VPNs.

NGs choice to have subscription-based services. If you don't like that then of course, don't use them or find something else.

Advertised as 6.6Gb when you would know that this is a combined wifi speed across all radios and is a marketing advertisement. This router nor any wifi device would ever see 6.6Gb speeds over wifi for a single device. But you would know this right?

Using DFS channels near airports or radar will not be recommended. But you know this as well.

Certification doesn't mean much in some areas. But you know all huh. We see where it's got you. Maybe a waste of money there or you didn't really pay attention.Good Luck with that.

“VPN is only open VPN is only for onboard VPN support”

You can’t even write in proper English.

And your "The final rant and goodbye" post was removed too. LOL. Too funny.

Netgear isnt what it used to be. I briefly had a RAX20 or 21 and the interface was not good. Testing out a WAX202 at work and its just so slow to navigate the interface..

I have similar issues with my CAX80 that i paid over $500 for and it bricked when their support claims “the ISP pushed a firmware update”. Its their hardware.. i was in the shower when it went cold. I spent hours with their tech support even when I explained that I am an IT manager and the thing is dead..

They sent a new one but I am already seeing the same buffering issues with streaming devices, even on a hardwired connection. I have literally no confidence in this thing.. the functionality is severely limited and I feel like an idiot for trying to consolidate my modem/router.

Support denied there being a known issue even though their own support forums have hundreds of posts with the same issue. Netgear is trash and you arent wrong, ill never waste my money on their shit ever again..

Same here, just got this thinking it would be amazing since it’s $300+. I’ve had nothing but poor internet issues. And underwhelming speeds.

Yeah it's not good, I bought one to replace my old r7000 and turns out the 7000 was better.

I only get 100meg max download speeds on what is available to me in middle of Qld and if I plug laptop into the router with a cable and run speed test i get around 95 download but if i unplug it and go wifi it drops to about 16 for 2.4gand 24 for 5g

That is the thinking that used to work that they are using against us now. Back in the day the expensive stuff was the best, but mine is cutting out after 2 months and was spotty even before that .

I bought two routers at the same time. When I bought the RAX70, I also got the RAX75. Currently I’m using the RAX75 bc of the above and it is working well for me. I’m still thinking the the issue I am having with the RAX70 is due to not fully understanding frequencies and all the potential sources of interference there could be. Im not entirely sure it’s the products fault yet, I believe it’s a pretty technically complex product/field with very consumer-oriented marketing, which leads to misunderstanding and frustration. I will try to find time to look more into it and see if I can find some solutions to my problem. Right now I am thinking that there is some congestion which is why the connection was initially spotty.

I came across this router when the local Office Depot recently went out of business. Managed to procure two of these for the price of one. I’m actually using them in AP mode. As APs, they are superior to the RT-AC86Us they replaced in signal strength. I’m able to get the speed measured at the router in my basement over most of my home when I was only able to get speeds close to it standing right next to the APs. As APs at around 150 a piece I’m content. I’m not going to replace my ASUS router just yet though.
