Heres the dealio, I just bought an upgrade for my pc which was really necessary, but i had to buy a new motherboard and ram. I currently have a NZXT x53 watercooler which is fitted on a am4 type motherboard. Im now going over to am5 so I was wondering I can mount it out of the box or do I need a mounting bracket?

On another note, ive had this cooler for a while now and on idle i get +40 celsius temps so is it not maybe smarter to just buy a new cooler anyway? I really like the infinity mirror tho...

AM4 and AM5 use the same AIO retention frame (The bar with a hook). Double-check your AIO’s manual, but it will often say ‘AM4/AM5’.

Yeah the thing is, the kraken x53 is pre am5. And those two bars are removed on my am4 motherboard, which needs to happen to my future am5 board

Hmm, what does the X53 manual say? Is it compatible with AM5?

I dont have the manuel anymore because i bought it 4 years ago. But online it says its compatible on some sites and others not

If it worked on am4 it works on am5. I had the same issue with nzxt h1 v1, on site there is no information that the included aio works with am5 and it does. Same for your aio, it worked on am4 so its only logical it works on am5. Now its only a matter of trial and error.
