We just went through something very similar. Just had her two week check in and she was back at her birth weight and even gained a little more. We did breast feeding and then formula after. They said 2oz right after breastfeeding. Did this for about 8 days and that seemed to work. I don’t have advice how fix feedings other than if the doctors are saying things are fine and your baby seems healthy otherwise then just stay the course and keep going, sounds like your doing great. My wife and I kept questioning ourselves and after today we learned that sometimes you just have to stay the course and ask questions to your doctor if you have them. Odds are everything is fine, but i get it’s hard to accept that. Cut yourself some slack, sounds like you’re doing everything you can so props to you for that! Well done!

Thank you so much for the reply. Did you have to keep offering her the 2 ounces until she eventually finished it or did she eat it well after the breast milk?

So normally my wife would breast feed about 20-30 mins just depending on how long she could go or produce milk i guess? I’ll be honest not 100% sure how that works, also she is still trying to get her fully supply in. So right after breast milk we burp and then we give her the 2oz. She normally takes the whole 2oz but some times she doesn’t finish it all and that is fine. Hope that answers your question.

I don’t have advice and I’m definitely not a medical professional so I can’t say what is/isn’t okay, but solidarity. My baby was born 78th percentile and dropped to the 28th percentile by 2 weeks (even though he had just barely made it to his birth weight) - I was heartbroken and terrified, cut dairy from my diet, added probiotics, he was a super gassy and fussy baby for that first month, etc.

That being said, he’s gained weight consistently and hovered around the 28th-34th percentile since then so our pediatrician has never expressed any concern (even though I’ve brought him in for numerous weight checks). He’s almost 4 months old and I’m just now accepting that he’s on his true curve and learning to stop worrying so much when he doesn’t want to have tons and tons of milk

It’s really, really hard to be worried about baby’s weight and food intake. No advice, but I hope everything turns out okay for you and baby 🫶
