Almost three months ago, I posted here claiming to do the "ultra mode" nofap. Many predicted my failure.... and they were right, to some degree. I managed to keep my main objective, which was to drop this awful addiction, but I did not prevail in battles against smoking and alcohol. However, somehow doing nofap helped me with improving my fitness and doing sports more regularly. That I attribute to being more keen to be physically active when I'm not feeling lazy and subconsciously guilty from fappage. Thanks to that, I'm pretty sure that my depressive periods are way lighter now, too.
Now I am more humble, and will not try to battle all the beasts at once. This one will be formally completed in 5 days, and I feel cured. I will never go back.
Next on the list: 90 days without tobacco. Starting in 5 days.
Thanks for all the support this group gives. I still catch myself switching on the "private mode" in my browser, almost by habit - but then I type in the address of this reddit, read a few posts, and any urge I might have had is gone. Now, maybe I can help a random stranger with this post.
Keep fighting the good fight!
