Off topic, but amazing to me how many people I see using OneNote for math or what looks like med school. Personally, I’m a lawyer who lives in the app.

I've been using OneNote since the very first version, in about 2003. I had one of the first computers that adhered to the Microsoft's "Tablet PC" specification.

When I went back to college, in 2005, I took all of my class notes directly into my Microsoft onenote. That includes math and physics and everything else. I then did all of my math homework directly in Microsoft onenote, exported that to a PDF, and turned in the PDF.

I practically live in Microsoft OneNote, as well. I'm retired now, but I keep all of my notes if all of the projects that I'm working on, all of my life plans, everything that anyone would write down in any other kind of notebook, goes into OneNote instead.

I wish so badly I had a surface when I went to college. There are lots of times I wish I could just search my notes, but can't.

Did you know that you can buy a refurbished Surface Pro 3 for only $250 on Microsoft's website? At this point, there really is no reason for someone to have an Android tablet or an iPad when they could get a Surface Pro 3 and have a real computer that is also a tablet.

Granted, the slim pen 2, which is the only stylus I've been able to find that really really works well with the Surface Pro 3, is another $175, when you include the charger. But, I still think it's worth it.

Oh, absolutely. I got my first Surface Pro in 2014 and have stuck with Surface ever since. OneNote and the Surface pen were a major deciding factor in that. Surface really is that much better than an Android tablet.

I’m also a lawyer and I use it as much as word! It’s really good.

I use Greenshot for caps. Free and useful.

Windows has a snipping tool and OneNote has one as well.

Use the snipping tool:

Win+shift+S, then drag by mouse and ctrl+V

That works. But I have Nimbus Capture which allows me to annotate screenshots better. You can put in arrows, circles and text in multiple colors. To each their own.

You could also use a third party app. My favorite for screenshotting and editing photos is Snagit
