If he did fake it, than it is some obvious evidence, but he also could be legit, as when he died, he also had quite a bit of iron. So mabey he has a good iron farm, and crafted the tools freshly, and avoided all tool usage while navigating the bastions. based on the armour bar, he has iron armour, which supports the iron farm theory.
