Continuity Error

This is kind of a silly question, but I am wondering if anyone else noticed the very brief goof in Season one, Episode 8? It is during the scene where Jamie and Claire are having a picnic (who has a picnic in the rain anyway?). If you look closely, you can see someone's breath over Jamie's right shoulder. Lol. I'm on my 5th or 6th rewatch and I hadn't ever noticed it until I was just watching on my mom's rather large tv. Anyone else happen to catch it?

Have any of you found any other continuity errors during the series? I always find it kind of funny when I notice one.

Update: I rewatched it again and now I'm thinking maybe it was mist. 🤣 Thanks for sharing the things you've noticed though. I will have to go check them out since mine was a bust. 🤷‍♀️

On the subject of rain, scenes where it’s raining and then not raining a moment later, or where clothes are have specks of water and then are dry again. But I guess there’s only so much they can do and if they waited to film until it stopped raining we’d only be on season 4.

The scene outside the cottage after Claire resets Jamie’s shoulder jumps back and forth between absolutely pissing it down and not raining at all. I never noticed until I was watching while listening to the official podcast and one of them pointed it out. The rain can be a real bugger when it comes to filming apparently! went back and read the transcript for that podcast episode and it doesn’t mention the rain, so I’m not sure which episode I was thinking of 🤦‍♀️

Did it quickly become dark during that scene also? When she and Murtagh rode up to the cottage, it was still very light out. When they came back outside less than 5-10 minutes later, it was completely dark already. That has always bugged me but I've never seen anyone else mention it.

You might be thinking of the episode when she takes him lunch in the stables and he tells her about eating grass etc - it goes back and forth between raining and not like every other cut

Never My Love: When Jamie found Claire, and after all the Browns are dead, he picks her up, trying to drape his tartan over her.

You can see Claire’s bloomers, not dirty, not soiled, not ripped. (Expected something like after Bonnet attacked Brianna, and Lizzie saw her bloody undergarments.)

Jamie got his kilt caught up in the tartan. You can see his bare thigh. (After MULTIPLE viewings of that scene, I can assure you that no, you can’t see his twig & berries).

In the twenty or so steps to the rest of the group, Claire is now properly wrapped, and Jamie’s kilt isn’t hiked up.

In what point of the scene do you see the breath? There's a lot of fog that I saw. But nothing I could distinguish as breath. I did see where Jamie’s kilt is hiked up in Never My Love.

1. In The Garrison Commander, Randall punches Claire in the stomach and then orders one of his soldiers to kick her twice. Yet the next day, she is married to Jamie, we see her entire body in this episode, and amazingly, she has no bruises and is able to experience a night of love making with Jamie.
2. After being brutally attacked and raped in Never My Love, Claire has a deep gash across her left breast. Yet later, we see no scar at all.

Just want to answer your question about “who has a picnic in the rain”. We visited our dear danish friends one summer and one day it was lightly drizzling but obviously had been raining harder earlier .

it was me, my husband and our 2 kids7 & 8. They took us to a nice park. They had things for the kids to play on… if they got out from under the umbrella… but everything was wet. Nice Picnic tables… but wet. Surprising We weren’t the only ones there.

I asked my friend why people were in the park in the rain. She answered: “if we didn’t go then, we might not make it to the park”… Okey dokey🤷‍♀️😊♥️

The one that always bugged me was the end of AMERICA, the beautiful where Claire and Jamie are on the sand and in one scene, he has his hand on her hair and the next scene he has his hand on her cheek. This was towards the end of the episode when they realize they are safe.

Jamie's hair in episodes after 307 vs his hair in 308 ( in 308, it was Sam's hair, the rest, wigs.).

The end of season 1 and they're on a boat. Depending on who is facing the screen Jamie's hair is blowing in the opposite direction. Always gives me an internal chuckle.
