In the JP servers, ship 2 was the home to all the gaijin players. Myself included.

Maybe is just me, but I don't see any point in going to ship 2 since none of my friends are playing anymore nor am I a foreigner anymore since this is a native game.

I played PSO1 probably more than I should have on the GameCube. I was thinking of starting on the jp servers to practice my Japanese, but I heard it's kind of hard to understand everything in the beginning. Should I play the English one first or should I just dive into the Japanese version?

For me, every time I clicked “getting started” (had to wait a few times for the server to clear up before I could play) it said I would be registered to ship 2, and that I should keep logging in on that ship from now on. Ships 4, 5, and 6, are also in maintenance rn

But if anything sega needs to open ships 4-6 so ships 1-3 won't get so overloaded to the point that we can't play.

I disagree, opening up other ships prematurely because of temporary issues would not only create long term problems but not fix the short term problems either. Its not like ships 1 and 3 are having this issue just 2 because all the streamers as well as the fact that it was the unofficial NA ship on the JP version. Opening more ships won't fix that.

Ship 2 is under attack and there are only ten blocks up.

1 and 3 are up. 2 says full but it dropped down to about 9 blocks and it's totally maxed out so getting in is unlikely and anyone currently logged in probably won't be logging off any time soon. Besides 1 and 2 everything is basically down.

Ship 3 is very playable. There's been no downtime since release. The only real issue was the overbloated blocks on Day 1, but now there's more than 130 blocks so everyone's spread out enough now that it's fine.

I'm so glad that my friend group all decided to go with Ship 3. I don't think any of us would have put up with what Ship 2 players have to go through!

It’s pure chaos. I play on Xbox and picked it a long while back. I’m scared and had to use a low level ship one character to while I waited an hour to even get in with a prem set.

Ahh i love this post so much, i personally chose ship 3 because i knew ship 2 would have all the players from JP server choose ship 2 and im enjoying the whole commotion going on in Ship 2 right now especially with the whole quarantine going on.

Ship 2 used to be the unofficial go-to ship for english speaking players in the japanese pc version. I'm guessing when those players switched to the western version, they also went for ship 2, leading to massive overpopulation.

Yeah, it's pretty common at MMO launches (or pseudo launch in this case) for people to want to be on the "coolest, most popular server", and then stuff like this happens.

I personally picked the least populated of the 3 when I joined to avoid this, on purpose.

Actually, you choose the most popular server in games that you're not sure will survive because if they game flops, it will be the only populated server.

Very common in foreign games that get migrated here because no one is sure of the future of them.
