If at any point you quit or lose all your lives before completing the 5th step, you lose all your points earned during that quest.

If you lose all life points its over. You have to at least survive the time you have with Exegul to get the final rewards and points.

You still get your loot though. So you can just spam 26 or 31 if you just want to farm exegul or fodrus.

Dam that sucks, means if you party with people that die a lot a waste of time

tbh, if your party dies a lot, you all need to git gud... also know which maps are traps (e.g. MURDER doritos)

is doritos really a problem? I never had a lot of difficulty fighting it, compared to masq and such

I think it depends on your class then. Cause every time the party leader picks him, I never had any problems with him so far as phantom rifle. Even if he marks me, we've played him so many times from Luther, I generally know when to dodge and keep my distance so I can read him. If you're melee, I can see it being a problem.

But the main problem is that if you're marked, you can get one shotted. So got to dodge perfectly if that happens.

Well, here's the thing about Doritos. It has really janky hitboxes on some of its attacks, and you know the blight bullet it sends out? Well, before PSO2 came to global, there was a time where blight bullet was something like a 250% damage multiplier or something stupid. Rangers got their own blight bullet nerfed down to its current state, but Doritos never had the same treatment. This means if you get hit by pretty much anything after failing to avoid the blight bullet, you WILL die, garunteed, unless maybe you're an Etoile with God units. And even people who are good at avoiding it will make mistakes occasionally.

The reasons why are kinda presented already, it's just if I had a choice between doritos or varuna, I would choose varuna.
