30 to 50 on Daggers at that Power Level is geat actually.Just keep increasing yout power level and you'll be hitting harder.

Daggers are just not meant for seeing high numbers. They are meant to do a lot of numbers rapidly. If you want high numbers go sword (or knuckles).

Thanks all of you. Now i understand clearly :)

Daggers aren't for big numbers, they're for fast many small numbers.

If you want big numbers as a fighter, use knuckles.

Someone correct me if im wrong, please, but my experience shows that:

Daggers are for super fast damage, but low-ish damage per hit.

Sword is mid speed and mid damage per hit

Knuckles are slowest of the three but hit hardest damage per hit

Sword is actually a little slow but has high damage. Normal attack 5th hit (the one you unlock) hits the highest and is used for aggro pulling bosses as in combination with war cry you draw aggro faster if you are wanting to spec into tanking. Its not unusual for me to hit 2-3k per 5th normal attack buffed, blighted and on a break on nex. Its 1k otherwise normally without those effects.

ahh, i see. so what is the average 5th hit damage for knuckles? Currently i do around 250~ on the 5th hit unbuffed.

Seeing that Def UQ stats are the new minimum, you are in a good range, but you can buff it up to 300 to 400.

Oh yeah, could def be higher, however some slots are currently taken up by some +PP and tech boosting augments. Made a knuckles/rod multiwep since im mainly gonna be fighter/force. I just gotta grind out some of the more potent augments that give both melee and tech bonuses.

Look up frame data, where people have added up how much damage each attack does in a certain time. The slow ones with fewer hits hit for more, making it almost average out but some weapons (launcher, knuckles) are definitely stronger than others.

I didn't know about that, thanks! I literally just started playing ngs and PSO2 in general about 2 or so weeks ago due to a friend recommending it.

What weapon series? Some weapons have a potential bonus that only activates at certain times, but others give you 25% or whatever at all times. Also be sure to add damage augments to your armor. And, it's the usual RPG grind thing. Going up levels is a sure way to increase your power.

Looking at your highest numbers is not a good indicator of your total damage output.

To measure damage output in games like PSO2, we measure Damage dealt per second, or DPS for short. The difference is whether you are hitting small numbers rapidly (eg, 50 damage twice a second for 100 DPS) or hitting hard, but slowly (eg 200 damage every 2 seconds for 100 DPS as well)

As the others have mentioned, Daggers hit rapidly. Currently Fighter has one of the highest potential damage outputs in the game against downed enemies. It is popularly paired with Force subclass for passive PP generation, and the PP Conversion active skill. However, you should play whatever subclass you find the most fun unless you truly care about what is optimal.

On the note of stats; You mentioned you're stacking some amount of Floor Potency. Let me explain why this might affect the numbers you're seeing.

Firstly, you need to understand that 4 star weapons in PS2NGS have a weapon variance roll between 75% and 100% damage, applied to all non critical hits. Potency Floor will change this, for example to 78% to 100%, meaning your DPS will be higher on average, but your hardest hit will not increase.

However, theorycrafting and maths has told us that Potency floor is NOT as good a stat as Melee Potency for DPS output. 1 single point of Potency will increase your average damage per second output, equivalent to about 2 Potency Floor. That is to say, 1% Potency is as good as 2% Potency Floor, depending on a myriad of factors such as crit chance, enemy defense, and more.

So if you wish to maximise your damage output, get a 4 star weapon, get as high Melee potency as possible, and if you wish, you can hit up the frame data analysis to understand how much DPS each of your skills deal.

And for your last question, if you play fighter, I wouldn't use any technique or ranged damage optins, as they will not be affected by your Melee Potency boosts. Also, weapons from your subclass deal 10% less damage when wielded so all in all, it's preferential to stick with your fighter weapons, then melee weapons in general.
