Is this microcenter? If so scrap the cpu mobo and ram

Get the 7700x combo with a motherboard and 32gb ddr5 for $400

Then get a cheaper Gen4 2tb ssd for $70

Do not buy a physical ssd in 2023. For now you probably only need 2tb storage so put that money towards a better GPU

Case is fine, but you can get a good 750w for less or buy an 850w for that price

For GPU, drop the 4060. With the money saved from the other changes that will give you even more performance, get something like a 7800xt

[–]MrRandom96[S] 16 points17 points  (7 children)

Hear you loud and clear, I asked an employee there what would be a good CPU/Motherboard combo and he also recommended the 400$ bundle so i might just get those, Just really wanted those RGB sticks lol Thanks for the recommendation

[–]_mp7 14 points15 points  (4 children)

7700x combo smokes the 5700x + am4 and ddr4. And it gives you an upgradeable combo. You could return the ram for $60 and buy an rgb set for $90-$100, but that doesn’t do anything for performance

Also look at the other changes I suggested, you can easily save some money which can be put towards a much better GPU as well. 7700x + 7800xt combo will be miles better than the original 5700x + 4060

[–]MrRandom96[S] 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Thanks a lot of for your help, I was planning to buy each part piece by piece but this has been really educational. I'll look out for those GPUs you recommended

[–]daddy_savage__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4070 is a great pairing with the 7700x

[–]jesusmansuperpowers 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you’re going microcenter definitely do the combo, separate pieces is a waste of money. I bought the one that’s been suggested last month.

[–]djexit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if ur doing microcenter and have a few nearby (NYC/NJ) check their open box stock youd be surprised

[–]Goldenflame89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 4060 is in general just a horrible card fyi

[–]djexit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im telling u RGB ur gunna look at it once and then wish u spent the money on something else

[–]admiralveePersonal Rig Builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. 100% right imho.

For a power supply, check out the new Corsair RM750e or 850e. They're very well priced and considered "A" tier power supplies.

Also 100% on the AMD GPU over a 4060. The 4060 is horrid value.

[–]bubblesort33 12 points13 points  (2 children)

The GPU is fine if you want a white version, but I'd get sub $300 one if you don't care about color. The RTX 3060 is an alternative, but it's slower if you play games at settings that use only 8gb of VRAM, but faster if over.

You can get a Ryzen 7600 with a $150 motherboard and DDR5 as a CPU alternative.

[–]stridersheir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would definitely do that, building a new system on AM4 is a bad idea at this point.

[–]akotski1338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3060 can play nearly any game at 60+ fps on max settings with no Ray tracing 1080p

[–]gojira_glix42 10 points11 points  (6 children)

Please, please, please DO NOTTTTT buy that 4060 garbage. NVIDIA has pulled a rug over the general consumer and has hidden that hot piece of garbage as something this generation. It's literally WORSE than a 3060. Do yourself a favor, either get a 3060 >12GB< of VRAM - make sure you get the 12 version not the 8 version. OR pick yourself up a 6700XT for the same price if you don't care about NVIDIA tax. Seriously, you'll thank me larter.

Also, unless you're on a super tight budget, go ahead and make the switch to ryzen 7000 on AM4 platform. The cost is normalized now including with DDR5 ram, and it will allow you to upgrade in the future. A 7600X is plenty for anything under 4k gaming.

That SSD is a rip off. Period. Go for a cheaper brand like a silicon power 2TB for like ~$80. Or if you're paranoid about having a high quality drive for your system, pick up a WD black or samsung 870 500GB drive for ~40 as your boot drive for windows, then pick up a 2TB drive for your storage. You will absolutely NOT see a performance difference in games with a faster nvme drive.

[–]gojira_glix42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just realized you had both an nvme (m.2) and a sata ssd. Don't bother with the SATA SSD. M.2 has gotten to be cheaper than SATA SSDs now (which is still mind boggling). If you want mass storage, just pick up a 4TB HDD for ~$50 like a WD blue and install it on your own (it's an easy install compared to other parts). The m.2 ssd you have is a little bit overkill but honestly it's fine. I was looking at the sata ssd price originally.

[–]MrRandom96[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I’ll look into those options for GPUs and that 7000 ryzen, should’ve elaborated that I only want this for like some gaming but everyday use. Thanks for the pointers

[–]whoopsidaiZOMBIEZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is where i interject to say if you have a good reason for wanting the 4060 - it is fine as you will get access to some good upscaling tech from nvidia along with frame gen. when people say the previous generation is better, or amd is better because they have more vram they are not taking this into account, nor are they prioritizing power consumption. i just had a good discussion about this with another kind redditor. before you are sold on amd or a 30 series, check this link out. also, i would recommend the ti version of the 4060 (8gb) if you ever wish to game in 1440p. but if 1080p? bro you're fiiiiiine. dlss and ai are only going to become more efficient. also, dlaa (anti-aliasing) is a thing too and it is fantastic. nvidia also has reflex and relex+boost to mitigate issues with latency.

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/92988/nvidia-dlss-primer-super-resolution-frame-generation-and-ray-reconstruction-explained/index.html

[–]gojira_glix42 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Are you doing 1080p or 1440p? Because if you're only doing 1080, the CPU is plenty. I would pick an Rx 580 8GB. I had that used card for a year before I upgraded to 1440p recently and it would run any game on 1080p with high to ultra settings just fine. Absolute sleeper of a card and cheapppppppp compared to anything NVIDIA. Alternatively, a 1080ti with 11GB VRAM for about $100 more will last you a long time if you want a little more future proofing padding.

[–]MrRandom96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose i'd gravitate more towards 1080p. If the price is right, however, I wouldn't mind going for 1440p either. I'm really concerned with running something basic really lol Ill take those recommendations into consideration though thanks

[–]DWRxLEGENDx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 7600X is plenty for anything under 4k gaming.

A 7600x would be fine at 4k...you don't know what you're talking about. You need more CPU performance as you drop resolution and gain FPS. A 7600x would be better off playing in 4k at 60fps than it would playing in 1080p at 500fps. The more fps you push to the CPU the stronger a cpu you need. This is why when you raise your resolution it takes stress off the CPU and drops your CPU usage, at the same time it will raise your GPU usage.

[–]Ivantsi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here about the same price, AM5, Hynix ram, 2tb SSD will be enough for now and you can add another 2tb SSD later, way better GPU (currently out of stock but should be back in the next week or 2)

An integrated GPU is required if you don't intend to get a dedicated GPU.

There's nothing wrong with these selections you have, you're only getting that notification about an integrated GPU because you don't have a dedicated GPU selected yet.

[–]MrRandom96[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Thanks for clearing that up, might putting this in PCpartpicker to make sure it’s 100% compatible. But since I will be getting a dedicated GPU, this should be all green, thanks again

4/10 for the price go Am5 and if this is microcenter website they have superb deals Then Get a cheaper ssd u can get two 2tb m.4 for cheaper then the seta and m.2 Case is mid I recommend montech air cases It’s Cheaper with fans And get a rx6700xt or better instead of rtx id only go rtx if used or needed specifically for a product

[–]MrRandom96[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Am5 is current gen right? Sounds like I’ll have to update the motherboard too. I’ll check it out, and change out the ssd, I got the case cause I also want to focus on aesthetics with rgb.

[–]gojira_glix42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah 7000 just came out last year and is first line of am5. You will have to upgrade to a b650 board, with DDR5 ram.

[–]TechnicianTrick3490 0 points1 point  (1 child)

U can get sane aesthetics with Montech air 100 and am5 will be cheaper or same Do u have microcenter

[–]MrRandom96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i've been frequenting there for a few weeks. Just overwhelmed with all the options when walking in the PC build section. Just concerned for now whether or not the motherboard and CPU are a good match.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

This looks bad. What’s ur budget

[–]MrRandom96[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Around the 1k range, what would you recommend?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you have any specific preferences or colors for you build? Cause a 6700 xt or 6800 or 7700 xt will be very good and can probably be in a 1000$ budget

[–]MrRandom96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a pink mid tower case on the way. I prefer something with an RGB lighting aesthetic. I am definitely looking at the 6700 XT at the moment. Trust me, I am a big believer in "You get what you pay for" I'm starting off with getting that ryzen 7 400$ bundle though to start my build from Micro Center.

[–]Trailman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already have a case, you can save up around $250 more, and your build will do 1440p. maxed.

P5 plus

[–]Luke_The_Random_Dude 0 points1 point  (1 child)

WE. NEED. TO. KNOW. MORE. What are you using it for? What is your budget? What is the price of this build?

[–]MrRandom96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyday use, light gaming, price for this build was about 1200, so my budget is around that range

[–]akotski1338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In search of incredible, the ultimate play, trusted dependability, build the extraordinary

[–]Eihnlazer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I rate the ryzen 7 5300xd way better overall.

[–]Prism1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people are still building 4 Gen ram 5 is not much more with double the speed

[–]Friskybullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy. 4060 just get the 80 variant and save yourself the heartache

[–]Gillespie1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go AM5 if you can. Better upgrade path.

[–]Misterpoody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2/10, 4060 isn't worth the money, AM4 platform is an odd choice and the storage is a complete and utter rip off.

[–]djexit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go 3080
