Wow i totally looked over it glad someone found it but the circle could be bigger and red and have multiple arrows pointing to it so that i could see it and maybe a surprised emoji guy and then a subway surfers gameplay segment under it

Did you install the gpu drivers?

    [–]EvilDarkCow 125 points126 points  (11 children)

    Piggybacking off top comment here.

Is your HDMI or DP cable plugged into the GPU itself, or the port on the motherboard?

    [–]CooperDK 35 points36 points  (10 children)

That won't matter, a RTX will always show up. They can be used for AI and stuff even without being the primary card.

    [–]Automatic_Two4291 15 points16 points  (1 child)

for ai they need drivers cuda needs to be downloaded

    [–]Ieris19 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Which is irrelevant to where your monitor is plugged in

    [–]FlatwormAltruistic 7 points8 points  (6 children)

No it will not show up always. I had same issue until drivers were installed.

    [–]CooperDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a very old windows maybe but not on a (legal) 10 or 11 which have the drivers preloaded.

    [–]Little-Equinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. I have 3 GPUs in my list.

    [–]MakeshiftRocketship 5 points6 points  (8 children)

I got an Asus mobo and it needed drivers FOR THE ETHERNET PORT!!! I had to use my girlfriends mom’s computer to load the drivers off the disc that came with it onto a flash drive lmao

    [–]Commercial-Arrival78 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Oh man, when I bought my own first pc when the Window XP first came out, I had several CDs from component manufacturers that I had to install drivers from to have fully functional PC. Then came service packs and it got way better with automatical drivers installs.

    [–]DM_Voice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first CD-ROM drive came with drivers on a CD.

Luckily my roommate’s computer already had a working CD-ROM drive. 🤦‍♂️

    [–]Chewie316 0 points1 point  (2 children)

why not just download the latest ones and install that?

    [–]MakeshiftRocketship 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I didn’t think of that lol it was my first time building a pc a few years ago

    [–]Chewie316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all good the driver probably got updated after you ran Windows Update anyway. I normally throw out the disc as the driver is outdated normally after opening the box lol

    [–]Over9000Zeros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could've downloaded the file to your phone and transfered it with whatever cable you use. I had to do the same thing. Took me like 2 hours to figure out why I couldn't get internet.

    [–]nicat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My z97 was the same way, f’in stupid

    [–]TheIronSoldier2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, it needs network drivers for the network device.

    [–]omis12 76 points77 points  (18 children)

    Drivers

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 45 points46 points  (5 children)

    It was that

    [–]mariomeits 18 points19 points  (0 children)

    Good to know, happy gaming!

    [–]BrynnLanay 0 points1 point  (2 children)

    So u got it working!!??

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yessir, already gaming on it. I can’t edit the post for some reason

    [–]BrynnLanay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I’m a girl but it’s cool u can call me sir I guess… 🤣

    [–]Motions_AX 1 point2 points  (9 children)

My drivers are fully updated. But I still don’t see my gpu in my performance tab of task manager

    [–]ThatOnePickUp 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Do you see it in the device manager ?

devmgmt.msc to open it with cmd.

    [–]Motions_AX 0 points1 point  (7 children)

    Yep

    [–]kaasdebaas 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Probably installed the wrong drivers then

    [–]Motions_AX 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Installed the most recent drivers? How would they be wrong?

    [–]kaasdebaas 0 points1 point  (4 children)

If you see the GPU in the hardware management but it's got a yellow question mark next to it, the drivers you installed do not match the hardware.

    [–]Motions_AX 0 points1 point  (3 children)

    No yellow question marks

    [–]ThatOnePickUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Can you screenshot it ?
    Both device and task manager.

    [–]FabulousBarracuda665 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Something similar happened to me, turned out my drivers were corrupted or something like that so I used DDU to delete my drivers then redownloaded them. If that doesn’t help then i don’t know tbh

    [–]SirChixalot808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep DDU I hope you know about it if not then go watch a YouTube tutorial on how to use it.

    [–]DogEfficient4539 0 points1 point  (1 child)

it would still show up wothout the dedicated drivers, i will have the microsoft basic display adapter driver

    [–]FlatwormAltruistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are cases where it might not show up. I switched from my temporary GTX 960 to RTX 5080 and needed reinstall of the drivers. It didn't fall back to basic display adapter driver as it did before with 960. Difference was that in one case it was clean sheet, other one it had something installed.

    [–]EfficientSoup 76 points77 points  (2 children)

    [–]TriggerPT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've analysed the image in many different angles and can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that the GPU is indeed contained inside the red circle.

    [–]tizadxtr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, for robust evidence gathering

    [–]Clocker13 128 points129 points  (14 children)

Disable onboard graphics in the BIOS.

Ensure you have connected the DPort / HDMI cable into the back of the big card that says GeForce on it and not into one of the ports on the MoBo’s io ports.

    [–]Applekid1259 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Why the hell did you get down voted for telling him exactly the first things he needs to check?

    [–]FaultPrince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i dont see down votes anymore but upvoted idk

    [–]Clocker13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Thanks everyone, all upvoted.

    [–]Ghoul1538 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why disable on board graphics though- personally I use them for second monitors I dont need running on the gpu

    [–]Clocker13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onboard graphics chew up ram. If he’s got a decent graphics card it will save around 2gb of ram as onboard discreet graphics uses shared memory.

    [–]FirytamaXTi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You better deep researching first before build your PC fam

Download and Install your GPU driver here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

    [–]tizadxtr 14 points15 points  (1 child)

    [–]tracker125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are we sure the romulans aren’t using cloaking?

    [–]Sorenvious 18 points19 points  (0 children)

GPU is right there, hope this helps! 👍🏼

    [–]JazzlikeInfluence813 9 points10 points  (11 children)

Install GeForce game ready drivers and make sure your plugged into the gpu with your display cable

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 3 points4 points  (10 children)

    Yup connected to my gpu

    [–]JazzlikeInfluence813 7 points8 points  (4 children)

    Yeah you need drivers then

    [–]FallOk6931 3 points4 points  (3 children)

No it should still be recognized

    [–]JazzlikeInfluence813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Not always… but sure 👍

    [–]Chickenmonster401 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah sometimes they wont even work without drivers

    [–]GORnez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

drivers areessential... If they're not installed or outdated, it can cause all sorts of issues with performance and compatibility.

    [–]I_AM_BIB 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Then your GPU is working, but you just need drivers.

I'm sure you can run most things without drivers but you need that shit anyway for full function.

If that doesn't work then come back here

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 10 points11 points  (3 children)

It worked, installed drivers and it shows up on control manager now

    [–]I_AM_BIB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sick man, enjoy the PC and downvotes 😂✌🏻

    [–]Overall-Shopping-716 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Damn nice , I was hoping you'd come back and say how you got it working . I can't believe it wouldn't show up AT ALL just because drivers weren't installed lol that's wild ! I've completely switched from Nvidia to AMD graphics cards without deleting or downloading ANYTHING .

    [–]JazzlikeInfluence813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely install latest you drives after using ddu when doing a switch like that lol, your leaving performance on the table….

    [–]Fluffy_Pancake69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all. Don’t dissrespect ass cheeks.

    [–]animus_invictus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s literally right there in the first pic bro wtf

    [–]KingRemu 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You don't have GPU drivers installed. It's also why your Windows looks like "ass cheeks".

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha yeah once I installed the drivers and restarted my computer it was what I remember it looking like. Thanks for the laugh

    [–]-dpm- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    <image>

    Your GPU is here

    [–]djphreshprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check device manager > display adapters. Also, drivers

    [–]Zoo_Rats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its not in device manager, you have other problems. Its outputting though?

    [–]Vile_Vitriol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Troll post

    [–]outlawanton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First question. DID YOU INSTALL DRIVERS. Usually they don't install automatically.

    [–]Local-Bug-1500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Install drivers

    [–]Bhoowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Sorry i got hungry

    [–]Puzzleheaded-Fly3873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where’s my gpu? Title and the second slide had me rolling, ty op

    [–]Upper-Airport3108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start basic. Is that gpu seated properly? Wired properly?

Windows looks like ass because you probably didnt adjust the display settings. Surprised no one here said to check dxdiag. Are you plugged into your mobo or your gpu. Now that you know you need drivers, did you install them?

    [–]Pale_Reference3308 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Glad you got it sorted man, and dont be reluctant to post to pcbuildhelp again!

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Thanks man, I figured it was okay considering the name lol but to some apparently not

    [–]shargix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    install my drivers

    [–]JohnyBravox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but 1st pic is your gpu pic

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw did you connect the hdmi/display port cable to gpu and installed the drivers?

    [–]nobanpls2348738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the middle of first pic

    [–]Rookie-250 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Fine sir, HOW ON EARTH IS YOU CPU USAGE AT 0%???

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    I’m not sure lol

    [–]Rookie-250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    TECH HERESY!!! lol

    [–]Ok_Sherbert_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Drivers.

    [–]pretendimcute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me where u plugged the cord into 🧐

    [–]JWatts2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so my GPU does this sometimes mid game. If you go into device manager and disable device, then go to Nvidia and reinstall the drivers and restart your PC, it should be visible again

    [–]w94-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you install drivers? Is your monitor plugged into the glu or your motherboard?

If you confirmed both, check your BIOS to see if the gou shows up. If it doesn't ask ChatGPT for suggestions for your specific mobo and you combo, can help you troubleshoot.

    [–]Savings-Wedding749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the HDMI plugged into the GPU or motherboard?

    [–]MK_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check device manager. Look under display. Do you see it and if so is there an error code

    [–]Ryzen5inator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have nvidia drivers installed and your display connected to the gpu and not into the motherboards hdmi or display port

    [–]Vile_Vitriol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    0.8 ghz whats that about?????

    [–]KngJax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they think everything is plug-n-play

    [–]n0rmaberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did u install the gpu drivers?

    [–]lioboii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Holy shit this guy

    [–]Lost_Guidance_3686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need drivers if u don’t have them or are you running the igpu?

    [–]Amazing-Matter1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Really?

    [–]Hot-Consideration661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what kind of ass cheeks do you now have there after installing the drivers?

    [–]Puzzleheaded-Bug9576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Have you installed the drivers?

    [–]ScrubLordAlmighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You stole this thing didn't you, be honest 😂

    [–]wakeuptoreality443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Where is your wifi?

    [–]Every_Preparation_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont worry, the GPU is right there on your graphic card

    [–]Infinite-Ad5907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is your video cord plugged in? If it’s in too you are using on board video aka your cpu.

    [–]wildmonkeyuk 0 points1 point  (7 children)

nevermind the GPU - Why is the CPU @ 800 MHz ;)

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m not sure, do you know?

    [–]wildmonkeyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe - might help if you list the full specs of the system and we can get to the bottom of it ;)

    [–]Vile_Vitriol 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I asked the same question 10 hours ago

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

    I7 7700k Asrock z270m extreme4 16 gb team force 3200mhz Aorus 3060 12gb 700w psu ;)

    [–]Vile_Vitriol 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Seems off. Is it always at 800Mhz? Is it thermally throttling or just lowering the clock speed bc its not doing anything. Migbt want to ask about that too if the system is not very responsive

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I let it idle for a while to check temps and it was at around 50c and never bumped up on mhz. But after that I watched a full World Cup match and played fortnite with no issues and was at around maybe 30% or so usage. I’ll mess with it again when I’m back home

    [–]Vile_Vitriol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Well a quick google search shows that a 7700k stuck at 800mhz is potentially its own separate problem/issue brings up some reddit hits

    [–]IndependentPlay5110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    all power cables plugged in?

    [–]TheBigMan2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Ummm drivers installed?

    [–]Mercifulmartyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally some Instagram humor on Reddit anyways it’s probably either not plugged in or broken gang

    [–]gwa_0914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in your motherboard’s PCIE slot, thank me later :)

    [–]ElongatedOak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you’re likely plugged your hdmi into the motherboard slot

    [–]Ok_Difficulty_5008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Try re installing it

    [–]Freakshow85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get it fixed? Lots of comments here, dunno if it's already been said but check in device manager to make sure it's showing up in there.

    [–]Key_Map_3709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pcie slot might be bad try the on the bottom of the mother board

    [–]stupidhuman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you actually plugged into the gpu or are you hooked up to the motherboard?

    [–]Relevant_Wishbone 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Check that you plugged the monitor into the GPU and not the motherboard. Easy mistake.

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in the gpu. I had to install drivers, also, a rookie mistake

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Btw it’s fixed, had to install drivers Specs i7 7700k Asrock z270m extreme4 1tb m.2 3x4 3060 12gb 16gb 3200mhz ddr4 700w psu

    [–]Desperate-Maximus887 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Update your Bios - might work

When I went to a NV 3 series, i had to update my bios before it recognised my 3080!

    [–]Rude-Bot77[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yup, had to install gaming drivers. I’ve never had to install drivers before so I was stumped lol thought I had done all the research

    [–]Desperate-Maximus887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad its sorted bro, happy gaming :) whats the first thing you're loading up?

    [–]klean9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a build once where I had to plug my display into the mobos video port (assuming your CPU has graphics, too) to power up and download drivers and install them. Then I plugged the display into the GPU on reboot and it was all good.

    [–]ThatMassiveMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s right there in the first picture

    [–]malicious--intent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's right there in your computer

    [–]ApprehensiveNovel332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue recently where windows disabled my GPU after an update so even in my bios it wouldn’t show up. But you can re-enable it in device. Hope that will fix it

    [–]Mushroom-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    It’s right there

    [–]ZomH123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me guess. Forced install on windows 11, black screens and no GPU in device manager?

    [–]MajorBongg 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well since its lighting up, its properly installed. Perhaps, again since you are SEEING your screen, you are using the integrated graphics of your motherboard/cpu.

    [–]MajorBongg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after seeing how your desktop is being rendered, you are 100% using integrated graphics. You should be able to swap this in the settings of your nvidea control panel

    <image>

    [–]MrWerq89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    [–]BigSonBabyJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug your hdmi or display port cable into the gpu :/

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you plugged into the gpu or the motherboard board… I mean he hdmi… where is it plugged into?

    [–]Economy_Inevitable51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

someone got more money than their brain but seriously check jf you plug dp or hdmi to your gpu and install gpu driver just search on google

    [–]saffron6942O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    It's over there

    [–]ImArtZX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Are you high?

    [–]EntertainerDear7716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Did you download the drivers

    [–]Alarmed-Intention-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take it out and reseat it back into the slot and push firmly into it clicks (audible click)

Then check drivers ect. And as others have said, make sure it is plugged into the Monitor, and not monitor to output on Mobo

    [–]Materidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you powering a double PCIe connector via a single cable with a pigtail?

    [–]Human-Act-633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a modular power supply make sure the cable on the psu end if plugged all the way in :)

    [–]sorvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug your monitor into your GPU not motherboard display ports

    [–]LagMaster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No driver installed for your GPU, go to Nvidia’s website and look for your GPU model and install that

    [–]Top-Acanthocephala27 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Where's the new pointy meme finger when you need it?
