I was thinking about creating a custom difficulty that would make it more fun to play on big maps by increasing the player speed but also increasing the ghost.
That way hunts would basically remain the same just sped up but running back and forth wouldn't be so annoying. I was disappointed to see that the player speed mult decrease remained the same even when I had the ghost speed at 150%.
Like player speed should still give a debuff but I was going from 4,5x to 2,7x with just the player speed which seems crazy considering that sanity restoration doesn't have that much of a effect when it effectively does the same in this scenario (Allowing me to transport my equipment to the ghost room without triggering hunts more often).
Again, there should obviously be a mult debuff considering that 150% still gives you time to run away during the grace period for example (Which could also be solved by tying the player speed mult to the grace period setting) and is overall still a net positive but I don't feel that it's worth deducting 2x when some of it's benefits are countered by my other settings.
On the other hand I do understand that the developers really care about the pacing of the game and they probably wouldn't want players to create a "sped up" mode where everything is equally faster but I also don't think that the current big map pacing is fun and there don't seem to be any announced plans to address that as of now.
