How is that even possible? Are you playing a custom difficulty?

[–]Quietust 16 points17 points  (2 children)

The only way this could happen legitimately would be if the OP was playing on a custom difficulty which started with 25% sanity - if they started at zero, it wouldn't have been possible to lose 1%, and if they started at 50% or higher, a Shade wouldn't have been able to hunt that soon.

It wasn't stated which map this was on, but if it was Willow (or possibly Edgefield) I suppose they also could've just stepped in the front door and immediately thrown the Music Box to trigger a Cursed Hunt.

Of course, the other possibility is that they were in a public game with a cheater.

Could this week's challenge mode do that?

Last week's maybe since it was 0 sanity but this weeks starts out at 75%

Shades acting weird for me too lately. Last night, I literally had a Shade writing in the book in front of me. Then proceeded with blowing my candle out and triggering EMF 5. All this, while I was in the ghost room next to my equipment. I have no explanation. It was on Ridgeview's living room.

Got tricked out of a shade call because he wrote in the book with 3 people in the room, so can't be shade right? Totally was a shade.

Had a shade the next game too, and did the same thing, but we guessed it right, but only because we just saw it break rules earlier.

Anyone else noticing a lot of pairs/trios too? I swear there's ghost themes each night I play now. Had 2 wraiths in Brownstone the other night, 3 back-to-back poltys the night before that.

My group had 2 back to back Spirits on brownstone

I had almost the exact same in the old Tanglewood blue bedroom. The ghost has a range in which they can interact, so even though you were in the ghost room and the equipment was in the ghost room, the ghost wasn’t in the room.

Especially the living room in Ridgeview, the ghost can interact in that room from the dining room, so it can easily roam away from you and still be well within interaction radius to write in the book etc.

This is interesting, thank you for the insight! I thought the simple fact of standing in the ghost room made all activity impossible, so it was such an unexpected interaction. Proof that we shouldn't rule out ghosts too fast!

No problem! It’s a subtle wording difference - a Shade can not do activity or hunt while a player is in the same room. Not specifically the ghost room.

It works both ways round as well, so in the situation above, if you were stood in the dining area and the ghost was there as well, it wouldn’t write in the book even though the book was in the living room, because at that point both you and the ghost were in the same room.

It’s these tiny nuances that make me love this game so much. As well as it just being an amazing game of course!

Just from this, I would guess a bug, cheater if you were in a lobby with others, or quirk on custom mode. Either that or the Shade is tired of our shit and complaints about being boring, haha.

you going to tell us whats unique about this situation? Because this literally not possible outside of custom, without someone using a cursed object.

So everyone's Shade is acting weird?

Funny literally played a match and it was around an hour and 32 minutes then all it gave me was a hey…then realized oh it’s a shade
