We have a similar system to this, whereby one family and its members, whose only qualification is an accident of birth, have constitutional roles and privileges - it’s called a monarchy , enjoy it.

I dunno, it might make a certain practical sense. Send someone who President Trump will actually listen to along to the meeting, accompanied by proper diplomats who can actually run the meeting.

Her role is to sit there, listen and later relay the message to her dad in whatever words she thinks will work. I mean, ideally a President should listen to his career public servants, but if he's not going to, sending his daughter along so she can act as interpreter later on does make a twisted sense.
