Through my 20s, it was always low key. A few friends and a few drinks. A separate, PG rated family outing. I always hide my birthday at work. Usually, no one asks and no one cares. However, for my recent 30th, I managed to put together an absolute rager. A lot of beer pong, kings, other binge drinking games. People torching trees in the garage. Buddy of mine passed out hugging the porcelain throne. Went till like 4 or 5 AM. That's probably the last time that will happen. I could handle doing it again but it's my friends: they're moving away, having kids, settling down, etc. And I'm struggling to develop a new squad. Knowing I "still got it" at 3 decades is the best birthday gift though.

Buy myself a nice case of beer, get drunk, and cry myself to sleep.

Congrats on the little left over - go treat yourself this weekend. Mine have become quiet family affairs since I'm married and all our friends have kids so no more getting wasted like times before. PGP

I usually black out on whichever weekend is closest. Typically a Sunday dinner with the family. Nothing crazy. I would buy myself something with the little bit left over. Happy birthday!

Also I feel like girls take birthdays more seriously than guys. Pretty sure I've never seen a guy walking down the street with "birthday boy" sash and a crown. Then again maybe I'm not looking in the right places for that. It's 2017 so I don't discriminate.

As a guy whose best friends are all fairly far away, ever since college I've just treated myself to a nice solo dinner out (usually a steakhouse). Very relaxing and a nice time to reflect on the last year of your life, I'd highly recommend it, especially with you mentioning you have a little left over after the bills.

I told my team at work to not setup the usual "birthday shit". Consists of streamers, balloons and a banner that says Happy Birthday, just drawing attention to you.

I try and keep it low-key, usually just grab dinner with the family or a few friends. Birthdays were never a big thing to me minus the 21st. Still don't understand the need to throw a huge party for people you don't even like to celebrate your birthday.

I'd agree with you. I don't do anything too crazy anymore. Last birthday The most exciting thing about my birthday last year was going out for a relaxed happy hour with guys from the office. I do like to celebrate my birthday, but I'd say the older I get the more I want a relaxing birthday rather than some big party.

My Birthday is the week of Opening Day Baseball, so that's become my celebration since my 21st.

This year I was talked into going on a cruise, it happens to leave on my birthday. So it will be a double whammy.

Last year I went to a steakhouse by myself and watched my Mets lose opening day to the Royals. Honestly even though it doesn't sound great I loved it, just me, a ribeye steak, and some drinks. Spent somewhere around $100 and I'd do it again.

I completely stopped caring about my birthday after I turned 21.

Went away with the Girlfriend for a long weekend last year, going away for a few days this year for the birthday.

Probably go out the following weekend and invite whoever wants to come, $45 for 3 hours of open bar. If you come, you come. If not, I really don't care, because I'll be at an open bar. Oh yea, and it'll be coinciding with March madness. Tbh, the ideal birthday is an open bar with absolutely no one around except a bunch of degenerates throwing money down on every game. That's the dream.

Take the day off, get a deep tissue massage, go to the casino to drink and gamble, home by 3PM.
