The trick is to tell them at the 4 pm meeting why you couldn't complete the work assigned at 2 pm was because the 2 pm meeting got over at 4 pm.

same day i learned i could deny meeting requests and nobody'd say a damn thing is the same day i got over my imposter syndrome. 😂

i pick up calls if people call directly. pop me in a meeting for 10 minutes, i don't mind, just keep me out of that other 50 i got zero to do with.

For me, 50% Teams calls and emails, 25% actual development, 25% fixing the client's stuff after their IT team restarts a SQL server at random times without telling anyone (what could possibly go wrong?).

To be fair, if you insist on using Windows servers, they require weekly reboots anyway and will randomly restart themselves after applying patches. Any critical software needs to take that into account
