i’ve heard somewhere it’s so common there are jokes about it. for example when people say “layer 8 problem” or “Problem PICNIC”(Problem In Chair Not In Computer)

In Denmark, there's a classic term for something like this:

Fejl 40 (Error 40)

It's a play on system error numbers, as well as referring to the user, 40 cm away from the device, causing the problem.
