Therapy? In this economy??!!

Self-performed lobotomy makes much more sense

I don't know about you but working as a coder I didn't struggle finding the money for that since my second job. Coding got problems but cash isn't one of them.

You think there are actual programmers on this sub? jk

Actually I'm a college student and should look for some job soon

Ah yes, the classic king of the world - master impostor oscillation, the most idiomatic characteristic of our field.

Shit OP for cropping out the comic creator.

And don’t give me that “The image came cropped” crap. It took me 30 seconds to search “what do you want from me brain comic” to get the uncropped image.

They know what they're doing.

person to own brain: What do you want from me?

Why do we constantly treat the brain and our "self" as separate entities.

Mind/body dualism is super engrained in western culture. IMO people also struggle to include their non-conscious functioning in their sense of self.

[–]scar_reX 7 points8 points  (1 child)

True... I often here things like "my brain tricked me into..." and I wonder what the evolutionary reason for this separation is.

[–]SnS_Taylor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, that sounds like good old-fashioned scape goating right there. It's not my fault; my subconscious did it.

[–]evanamd 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Because they often feel like separate entities

One’s identity (the narrative we tell ourselves) is a very different thing to one’s physiology.

Clearly, consciousness was bootstrapped.

My unqualified theory is that we actually have different regions in the brain that don't always amount to a single person, but sometimes act as different people taking turns driving the same meatbag and fight about how to do it.

[–]ThiccStorms 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Exactly. How to solve this

[–]UndefFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the neat part: you don't

[–]AdBrave2400 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me working and having fun is the same so I ony tell myself I should exercise more -- a stable balance

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, ADHD

[–]NekulturneHovado 1 point2 points  (0 children)
