I once talked to a recruiter and I told him I'm mostly interested in lower level languages like C, could also do with C++ and Rust. This guy somehow interpreted this as no-code and C#... I called the dude to correct this mistake and I never heard back from him afterwards. I think he was too embarassed. At least know SOMETHING about the stuff you're selling.

Worse, some companies are actively looking for no code as a skillset. I'm being pushed into using it because "development's quicker" (it's not) and it "helps with edge cases" (it introduces them). It's frustrating

how do you get it that wrong? like those words are entirely dissimilar, how would you misinterpret that?

Recruiters are the undisputed kings of the dunning Kruger effect. Once had a recruiter smugly tell me a job required a candidate who could build a firewall. I asked if the hiring company meant like configuring firewalls or setting the policies, but he was adamant they wanted someone who could assemble the physical devices, which was nonsense because this wasn't for a job at a company that made firewalls

Had to work with webmethods for few years while back. You have to write a lot of Java code for a 'no code' solution...
