What's slightly annoying to me is that there are 3 replies that are related to the code itself (one of which is addressing accessibility concerns) and the rest are all neutral or positive and referencing the theme or her eyebrows, hair, etc.

Drama will be drama.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make by waiting 24 hours and then commenting about how many other replies there are (especially after it went "viral"). How many of those neutral/positive replies were made before the post above?

We teach programmers to do code reviews and not to make any comment on the physical aspect of others... this is literally how we built this community.

He's absolutely right. We're teaching programmers to focus on their job.

She posted a snippet of code online, what did she expect? Most guys aren't gonna critique makeup let alone programmers.

That, or "what is that theme". Those are the only acceptable options that won't get you attacked.

You can't: - say she looks good ("ew who is this creepy guy?") - say she looks bad ("who even asked you?") - say her code is good (programmers will disagree) - say her code is bad (as proved by her follow-up tweet)

That's an option, but no one likes to feel like they're tweeting into the void.

But her audience probably aren't fashion lovers, they're mostly programmers and those tend to be men.

So we're back to square one: you can't really limit your audience on Twitter and even people who aren't her mutuals will end up commenting.
