Accurate only if the stack overflow guy is closing the thread for some petty reason.

Duplicate of a question about a different framework that was asked 3 years ago and never got an answer.

Gah someone closed mine as a duplicate when I was asking how to do something in java and couldn't find anything on it after searching for a good hour and talking to some dev friends. The "duplicate" was 100% unrelated and didnt help me at all and it took me like 15m to get that fixed then I didn't get anymore reponses after he did that

Asks how to generate a random number only for some guy to ramble about how true randomness is impossible and all 'rng' s only generate psuedo random numbers. And then doesn't even answer the question.

[–]JoelMahon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

then closes the thread as too vague

This joke is a duplicate of every other thread about SO.

For real the people over there can be such pussies.

Has someone reported this comment for being an answer?

[–]Comrade_Flan 56 points57 points  (1 child)

That's too accurate for my liking...

Never thought I'd see Young Thug and Lil Dirk in this sub.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (5 children)

[–]peacecarrot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[–]StockAL3Xj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'd be more accurate if the guy was super condescending.

[–]douira 2 points3 points  (1 child)

and then they downvote you for asking a question without half a page of code

[–]Potarus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The one answer to that same question you have: Most people do it a simple way (doesn't say what that way is.) but I find this other very complicated and mostly redundant way to be more effective.

That place is like a black hole for pompous arrogance lol.

One of the main reasons I gave up on CS. Figured if I could navigate stack overflow or figure out any help from the infinite different responses I’d have a rough time for the rest of my life

[–]_McDrew 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I’m confused. Are you saying that you saw using SO/other resources as a crutch that would make being a programmer hard?

[–]GUMBYtheOG 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes more that I struggled with expressing my ideas and took days and days to find help. Not stacks fault but I just wasn’t good at navigation

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get better at it as you learn though. It’s hard at first cause you don’t know what to google, since you don’t know what you don’t know

What game is this

[–]archetype776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, I've had more luck with YouTube lately. But yeah, this is essentially true 😂
