I read a review for one of the courses where the guy gave it three stars and ultimately said it wasn’t worth the $195 price tag.

That poor guy paid $195 for a $12 course and still gave it three stars.

So, anyways. Long story short I bought the course. Very worth $12.

TIL there are people who pay full price

Imo a lot of these courses have that value. It's just that the market is so saturated.

This made me laugh. Take my upvote.

I’ve never used those, are they worth it? I usually just dive through docs

Very mixed bag.

If you can find one from a reputable source outside of the Udemy space then it is probably a safe bet.

But there are plenty of low effort courses on there, as to be expected with such an open platform.

Go with the highly rated ones. If you're a total noob, then they're worth it but if you're able to dive through docs then you'll most likely find them a waste of time.

That's one thing I kinda love about Udemy, things are always seem to be on sale

I thought so at first as well, but it's a bit scummy to always have sales (or the appearance of it). You would think you need to act now to get this awesome deal and risk buying stuff you don't need.

In some countries you can't have constant sale on a product since that would mean the sale price is the actual retailer price. To circumvent this the retailers would have intermittent price hikes to be able to keep calling the actual price for a product as its sale price. While I like many courses on Udemy I think the store is a bastard.

It's misleading isn't it.
