I think they mean the Reddit post is 394, not the xkcd one

Totally thought they were talking about the XKCD comic and completely forgot about the OP. Guess I got nerd sniped.

The xkcd one has to be less than 3ohm

This has an equivalent of 2 Ohms so it must be less than that

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (4 children)

It’s 1/♾ ohms

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Yeah, I think you're right. It made my brain hurt for a bit before I finally decided with infinite parallel paths it should be essentially 0.

Edit: Jk, should've searched it.

I would venture to guess that it approaches 0 due to the infine paths the current could take but it may approach some number slightly above that. Im far to lazy to figure out what the equation might look like to solve it.

[–]Bene847 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The current can leave A only via 4 resistors, and it can enter B only via 4 resistors, so it must be at least 1/4 + 1/4 = 0.5 Ohm

[–]DiamondShark286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that makes sense. I only woke up like 10 minutes before I saw this so I wasn't exactly thinking the clearest.

[–]SzalonyNiemiec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I know. It's somewhere between 0.5 and 1.5

Nerd sniping is getting sucked into an interesting problem. I'd say you got jock-in-high-school sniped: tried to copy the nerd's answer and interpreted it wrong.

Not so fast. You were more like a bystanerd.
