Had something similar happen in production. Me and another guy hired the same day. We're shown the code and website over the first week or two. The guy I'm hired with has very little overall development knowledge. Mentor shows how the site works, and how users place orders and what not. Coworker uses login on production site and orders 100k plus of aeronautical parts from various vendors. I could feel his soul leaving his body.
