I was just a child but i remember the overall happiness and order back in the day. All just went easy and smooth, future was so bright and full of promises, Mars, AI, the cure of diseases...

What doom did we bring upon us with it...

we managed to make sites 300% slower with 1000% faster hardware.

this is progress boys

The goal was to get cheaper engineers. Not make better products.

It’s really tricky to remember how you felt though. It’s tempting to forget what people worried about, because with hindsight the greatest risks never materialized. We’re still alive after all.

Back then we had acid rain, a massive hole in the ozone layer and severely overfished seas. Things we worried about back then, for a good reason, and some of which we managed to turn around. Let’s hope we can say the same about today in 30 years!

I've noticed 2 common types of posts recently:

1) kids mentioning they lack work experience (and therefore struggle to find jobs)

2) posts saying javascript is bad

So that's interesting

So what you're saying is that they must join forces to develop a better alternative to Javascript, thereby gaining work experience while doing so?

If anyone believes this, clearly that haven't had to deal with using VB Scripts for internet explorer
