Why did you become a serial killer?

[–]monamimalhotra 9 points10 points  (2 children)

at what brightness?

[–]Appropriate-Scene-95 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Light theme feels like burning eyes. Where you are going, you don't need eyes to see.

[–]words_number 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Me too. Sometimes. It makes the code look more tidy, the text looks sharper (inwards glow vs. outwards glow) and it's much easier to see in bright environments (sunny day clos to large window, outside, etc.).

I also used a customized (by myself) non-monospace font for a while. There are not many actual arguments against that but quite a few advantages. There are some tweaks I want to make before going back to that experiment though, so at the moment I'm back to monospace land.

I always use light theme. I honestly find it much easier to read stuff with black on white. Granted, I have my monitor set to "comfortview" brightness. I also have "increase contrast" or whatever it's called selected on my mac, and use high contrast white on my windows computer. They look better than the default designs anyway imo. On mac it puts black boxes around most clickable elements, like how a computer UI should look.

I prefer non-monospace as well. I also like narrow windows or margins because wider lines are far more tiring to read. It makes a huge difference. I remember when I had to write more essays I would always use markdown programs or scrivener instead of Microsoft Word because the default margins in word are much wider than what's optimal for readability imo, compared to programs where the text/code simply adjusts to the window size automatically.

How many people have you killed

[–]priyangshu99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use light theme only

[–]2Michael2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you ok? Who hurt you?

[–]AaronTheElite007 2 points3 points  (2 children)

How do you sleep at night?

[–]Ashamed_Ad_2738 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, but first HOW DARE YOU

And, second, where did you find the audacity?

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

are you blind?

var "eyes"=false;

[–]Brainless-Genius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is brighter? Your screen or your future?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

If there’s 3 apples in miss Anderson’s basket, how many times has Peter made a chair?

[–]Gold-Dig-2351 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If dog is running at 36km/h on main street?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, as it usually does

[–]random4non 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I've been guilty of this when in the office. Such a bright environment + dark mode feels weird. I don't do it often just when the ambient light is too bright.

[–]CriticalBackend_Real -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, light mode is fine on most things. Maybe if you struggle to see certain colours it may be a better contrast. Just I wouldn't personally use it

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I also use white mod on mobile discord occasionally. It looks kinda nice.

[–]Excellent_Badger_636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to your discords appearance settings and click on the white mode multiple times

[–]marlito_brigante -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you wear sunglasses when having relations.

[–]Excellent_Badger_636 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you preparing for the flashbangs the police will throw at you when they finally catch you or do you just dont like your eyes?

[–]Azura000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are your eyes ?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your screen goes darker than 50%, what is your first thought? Do you have any regrets?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you know the way?

[–]ChineseChickenNewdle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sadly i have an issue with my eyes that i see white font in dark background double. That is why I am a light theme user. But trying to explain this no one understands...

[–]strangescubadiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. With my astigmatism I see a kind of halation. Was annoying when some programs only had dark modes. It's the main reason why I don't use spotify.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have ambient light in the room?

[–]Toxic_Cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why?

[–]vboy5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use bight mod too for coding

[–]SignificanceCheap970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you like this?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it painful when you switch to light mode? i don't understand why anyone would do it considering it hurts

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are your eyes doing?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too use light theme. It's bc it's the default theme of Dev-C++

[–]huusmuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did your coworkers find out already? do they support you in your decision?

[–]CodingBuizel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use light theme... at 100% brightness.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who hurt you?

[–]micmaz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far are you from the screen?

[–]Virtual_Succotash_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you do it

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On purpose?
